"The referee ruled that Ortiz landed an illegal blow; After Ortiz scored a knockdown in the middle of the first round, toward the end of the round as the referee separated both fighters from a clinch, Ortiz landed a left uppercut to the chin of Alarcon who fell backwards onto the canvas unconscious. The crowd booed Alarcon as he left the ring. "
Dan rafael has seen all of his early fights and he said his dq loss and early draw were both essentially to be viewed as first round knockout victories... For whatever that's worth.
He might be a dick but I haven't seen them fights myself and he has so he's more informed than I am. Altho I think him and jim grey are right up there as the most unprofessional members of the boxing media today.
The Cordova draw was bull****. The fight ended after the first round when Victor had a horrible gash on his forehead. That fight should have been a No Contest. It was on Shobox, by the way. But the Alacorn DQ was understandable. Ortiz hit him with a right uppercut that knocked him silly while the ref was breaking them up. After Alacorn got his senses back, he went to confront Victor, but the ref pulled him back.
Uhh...are you serious? :? One does not need the Agbeko-Mares aftermath on which to base a low opinion of Jim Grey's professionalism. :rofl The reputation existed LONG before that night.
No i'm referring to his career over especially over the last couple of years. The way he talks to people after a fight just reeks of relf righteousness. He acts like he's, at times, got no respect for what the fighters have just been through. There was a fight not too long ago where he was a complete tosser in the aftermath. There's bound to be threads on it from then but I can't recall off top of my head.
