You sound like you watched them. From what I recall he said ortiz was clearly en route to victory both times? I'm assuming he score knockdowns in both fights?

He's really bad, but to be honest he isn't the only one. Don't forget Merchant asking Katsidis after losing to Marquez "How do you think your (just recently deceased) brother would feel about this?" :patsch

Yeah, I saw Ortiz-Cordova live and have the Alarcon fight downloaded somewhere.

Ortiz dropped Alarcon, and it did seem like he was on the the verge of a stoppage. But then he went on to hit Alarcon with a shot on the break, after the referee clearly told them to "stop punching."

Against Cordova, Ortiz won the round, but it wasn't like Cordova was on the verge of being stopped and Ortiz never knocked him down.

Ah sounds like Rafael was overhyping him a bit then. It was round about the time he was explaining why he was prospect of the year that I read his piece.

atleast with Merchant you can use the excuse he's senile. Grey is just a dick, and more high profile than some of the others. I don't much like that, damn what's his name, bennie ricardo? something like that. the one who speaks in both languages. gus Johnson is annoying also.

Merchant said it awkwardly, but I think it's clear he meant to say something supportive like 'your brother would have been proud of your performance.' It just came out weird.

    Yes I that was a serious question...
Honestly, maybe I didn't watch enough showtime aftermaths to realize that.

I've seen him be borderline on numerous occasions but in that case, that was just horrible...The way he was disrespecting the ref.

That is normal behavior for Jim. He is often even worse.

One in particular was after Vazquez vs. Marquez when he insist they answer his questions in English, after what had just took place in the ring....not to mention I'm sure they could talk better to the fans in their natural tongue.

On the over all he's a true thru and thru complete utter ass hole.

Was proud to have such an ass hole though to talk to Mora the other night, myself.

You must be talking about this piece :

That's a huge exaggeration. Ortiz clearly won the round, but it was hardly a thrashing. Cordova landed some shots of his own and was never seriously hurt, let alone almost knocked out.

The Alarcon fight was a mismatch, but the DQ was justifiable. Here's a GIF of the ending...
