TR is great at making stars but Arum milks them once they get big. Floyd and Pac things didnt help (best move ever by Floyd . . . Manny should have left Bob after getting that bag full of cash . . . well when he could)

manny, signed with oscar, who gave him some money. manny kept the money,oscar sued him & bob sued oscar in federal court. Dumb manny, ends up paying two promoters in the end! And they want this guy to run for filipino president?

Arum was being paid to promote, praise and find/make fights for Oscar. Oscar decided to leave him and become independent, which clearly makes him a competitor against Arum. Think it should be clear why there's hate between the two.

 

Sadly, that's what everyone promoter has to do to stay alive in boxing. They make fighters big to further promote themselves through that fighter and also help promote other upcoming fighters through the already established yet older(and temporary) big name. This is a business, not a welfare compound.

 

Arum was all smiles and helped when DLH had an itch to get into the promoting business. I'm sure Arum thought "I'm going to let this kid experience and believe he's a good promoter.

Arum had no idea DLH was backing himself with educated people like Richard Shafaer to get into it heavy and challenge him to be the top promoter in the sport.

At one point DLH did'nt have any use for Arum for anything and GBP became a bonafide promoting empire.

Bob Arum's hate grew out of that. "How dare this guy leave me after all the money I made for him."
Arum will take that hate to his grave as thats simpy the kind of human being he is, always has been, and always will be.

 

The Boxer works for the Promoter - not the other way around. If the Boxer isn't signed to that Promoter - then - they're working with the Promoter. The Promoter doesn't work for the Boxer - for the Boxer is paid by the Promoter.
