WHy was Paquicao able to Negate Cotto's Jab?

Apples vs. Oranges: Pacquiao has a more tested chin and harder power than Mayweather making it unlikely that Cotto could maintain a 12 round war which was required for him to beat Pacquiao that night. I actually think that the commentators and boxing judges could've given Cotto 1 or 2 more points than they did going into the 7th round.

Cotto landed, hurt, and cut Mayweather but Mayweather's speed, accuracy, and counter punching ripped Cotto apart. Pacquiao was an explosion whereas Mayweather was relentless teeing off on Cotto's chin.
