It always surprised me that some people was shocked any boxing fan with any sense knew Mayweather had most of the advantages he is bigger and is a legit ww not only that Mayweather would be on defense mode.

most current/ex fighters picked Mayweather for reason and that reason was was his elusiveness but because Mayweather would of just outboxed the smaller fighter.

The only way Pac could of won was by knockout what was the chance of that really?

Even back in 2009 it would of been very hard for Pac to put Mayweather away let alone in 2015.

Also did anyone really think Mayweather would actually fight Pacman toe 2 toe and risk his unbeaten record just to please the fans?

The only way Pacman had a chance of winning was if Floyd fought like a madman

I don't think there were that many surprised people here.
the casuals maybe, but they don't post on this forum.

The outcome wasn't surprising. Just the clinchy/sparring session feel of the fight was massively disappointing. Years of hype for a total stinker.

I thought Pacquiao had a chance for the KO, genuinely. He caught Floyd with some good shots but you have to give credit to Floyds chin.

The result wasn't surprising at all. Most people thought "boring UD" to be the most likely outcome.

I think people were shocked at how much of a boring UD it actually turned out to be though. It was much worse than I expected.

Frankly, it looked like they were trying hard not to hurt each other.

It makes me laugh that people actually thought Pacquiao had a chance.

He DID have a huge chance, I considered it 40-60 in May's favour, rematch I'd have the same odds. But it was depending on freddie roach as manny is not the smartest guy in there, he relies on his speed advantage significantly and I was astounded he seemed to waltz in expecting to be faster lol. Roach needed to tailor to his guy's strengths, what they did fantastically was avoid getting tagged too much, brilliant head movement but it took all of his effort to reduce Mayweather's accuracy and land more or less jack **** of his own. The two hard counters in round 1 made Pacquiao gunshy. The shoulder would have affected him (it was not severe, nobody even suspected he was injured, ya know, experts ringside, zealous ''pact****'' had no suspicion...) but so would Mayweather's hands, can't have one excuse without the other. He won 4 and 6 clearly, I can see a case for 2 other rounds maximum but they could go to Floyd too. He had absolutely no clue how to close the distance, Pacquiao is a mid-range fighter, many people don't seem to accept this... he also cannot cut the ring off worth s*** for some reason. Mayweather was also not facing a size discrepancy, why do people point out how small Pacquiao is but not noticing guys outweigh Floyd massively too.

Pacquiao has always been a fighter who relied on his athleticism to cover up his technical flaws.

Pacquiao couldn't cut off the ring against Algieri. What made people think that he could do it against Floyd?

Watch the first two rounds and you tell me. It was like a total of 5 punches were thrown between both of them. Smh.

I was shocked at how awful it was. I knew there was a chance that Mayweather would win- it was the best chance. I bet that. But I didn't think the fight would be THAT bad. They both had 0 offense the entire fight...and that's a joke when it was hyped to be "FOTC".

He had a chance we are talking about elite level boxing here and both guys are p4p fighters.

It's more easier to out box someone to a UD then to knock out someone.
