I agree he didn't deserve a 50/50 but if Wlad wants to smash him so bad why not agree to the 2nd option he said in that vid?
Well, that's the point. The Klitschko earn 3 million from RTL, which is a nice fixed salary. Obviously, they made the contract when their were no stars on the horizon in the heavies, so it was a good deal. Haye makes 5 pounds for each Skybox buy. In his last fight he earned 2.5 million pounds on 500K buys for John Ruiz, a little less than the Klitschko. A unification bout with either bother is expected to reach 1 million buys. Therefore, it is completely irrational for him demand all of ppv sales. It would mean that he would benefit financially from unification while the Klitschko would not. An intentionally ridiculous request in my opinion. Haye has always wanted the fight with Audley. He has no interest in the brothers at this point.
there is a difference between being a haye fan and accepting his excuse. simply because of his natinality i am a fan, and if he ever does step up and fight the klitschko's i will hope he wins. that being said from what i can gather the following has took place, correct me if im wrong here. haye first wants to fight the klitschko's over a year ago, but he doesnt like the contracts offered by vitali because of the split and options, which i can understand. he also cited back injury to pull oout of a fight with wlad, obviously this was bs because setanta had just gone bust costing haye all his money. so he decides to fight valuev which he claims paid better and was less risk. which in the long run means he had a belt and hence could negotiate a better deal with k2. ^^^^^ that seems plausible to me since i followed haye for a long time and know he has a history of taking tough challenges. so i gave him the benefit of the doubt since he then defeated valuev and began negotiations with wlad hence justifying my pre-conceived beliefs. so wlad offers haye 50/50 with no options which is seemingly exactly what haye was looking for right? wrong. haye then turns round and says no becaus rtl arent paying enough. even tho rtl are the biggest network in germany, have a fixed contract with k2, and all this was public knowledge hence haye must have known. so he then demands to keep 100% of the uk ppv buys even tho wlad will obviously be a big part of the promotion, hence contributing to the sales. so haye is basically giving wlad too options. 1) break the contract with rtl and risk a lawsuit. 2) take the fight for less money than haye receives. now, if wlad takes option 1) we have to assume that haye actually has found a better option. which from what i can gather is very unlikely, and currently unsourced. plus rtl could then take wlad to court which could potentially cost him the difference that haye's "rival offer" will pay anyways. if wlad takes option 2) it will be almost unprecedented that a champion, and overwhelming favourite, would take a fight for less money. plus it is scandalous for haye to put that forward since wlad will clearly influence the sales figure. it looks like a ***** move to me, but he could redeem that by fighting vitali since vitali gets more money from rtl and i really doubt haye could get an offer higher than 3.75 mil. or he could take his mandatory in chagaev like wlad did with povetkin/peter. but instead haye takes a fight vs audley, and yes whilst this will be lucrative, nowhere near as much so as a fight with either brother would be. i think it would be amazingly ironic if haye gets knocked out by audley in what is deemed as a high reward low risk fight. so yes i am still a haye fan, and will support him vs any non-english fighter. but i think it is clearly apparent that he does not want a klitschko. i dont like using the word duck, but i think it fits in this scenario.
we used to debate the whole haye/k2 scenario previously, but it is obvious now that haye dont want them. both sides now have the same story, haye turned k2 down.
well, if you can make almost nearly the same amout of money fighting Audlies of this world, why not? I can understand that... after all, any K would be dangerous and postentially career ending fight. I'd also fight Audlies a few time to pad my bank account before embarking on the challenge of my life. My main problem with Haye he fights so seldom... :-( just imagine if he would get one or two impressive wins after Ruiz. the demand for the K fight would be even bigger...
You're just making excuses for what should be an obvious avenue for K2 to explore. If Haye voiced concerns about the cash RTL have agreed then K2 should approach the network to see if they are prepared to renegotiate for this fight, as a broadcaster surely they would rather offer another million to get a huge fight made rather than having the likes of Sosnowski and Briggs instead. If the Klitschko's were so sure Haye didn't want the fight then why negotiate in the first place? Your reason doesn't make any sense.
I made this point a while ago, it wouldn't just be Haye fans buying the ppv. There would be those who will be paying to see Wlad destroy Haye and also those who are fans of neither in particular but who would pay to see a hw unification fight between any two fighters. I too would pay for this ppv but I wouldn't want to be lining Haye's pockets.
I know its just kind of sad honestly the way he shits on his fans and all the constant excuses from him.. all of his more intelligent fans on here have pretty much called Haye on his bulshitt, It sucks in a sense cause there really isnt no one left to really debate with besides those who really can't make a legitimate point... Oh well hopefully something exciting happens in boxing cause this year has sucked.
50/50 is fantastic, yet Haye refused it. Haye knows that he will get knocked out if he fights Vitali or Vlad. Haye broke two contracts! He lies!
