they could have just apologized and say they cant do anything about it since its live, but no, instead they put the blame on floyd mayweather, by saying.....

"we apologize for the language at the moment, but hatton is being put under a lot of pressure by mayweather, all the taunt that's gone on for the past week"

    and

"once again we apologize for the language, but the pressure is certainly upon ricky hatton at the moment, mayweather is a really difficult character to deal with, we apologise"

I know that was crap, I recorded it. It's like yes Ricky said ****ing and poof and dick, Floyd made him, it's not like he's just a bloke who uses those words like the rest of us. I know they have to apologize with watershed regualtions, but no need to put the way they did.

I think they just wanted to give a reason for Hatton 'being under a lot of pressure' , after all 99% of people in the UK will be doing so supporting Hatton and Sky(who will broadcast the fight on box office) would like him to appear in a positive light .

I thought it was pretty weird but mostly I was just hoping that the announcer would just shut the **** up so we could hear Hatton throw a few more zingers.
You gotta admit he was funny.

Trust me dude. The average English Joe is not going to become hostile towards Hatton because he said "****" and "dick" on TV. If anything that language is endearing.

We're in England don't forget. After 9 at night, public TV is full of that stuff.

Ricky doesn't swear? Where the hell have you been? Any public speaking etc he has done, he swears a bit. Not normally when it's live on TV, but honestly the live TV coverage wasn't the main point of today, it was secondary.

How many people do you think watched it live on TV? Most would have caught the edited hightlights. I got to work early, so I could duck out and go along. Live TV coverage was not an important part of todays event. Hatton using so called foul language what a shock. Have you ever been to a hatton public speaking event, like a dinner function? If not then you should shut the **** up not me.

I completely agree. If you really MUST apologise for something as stupid as this, then do it once, after! Or maybe at the beggining, suggest that there could be swearing, so if anyone gets offended by such language they should switch over (although I doubt they would ever do that) and then apologise again when it's finished. DON'T speak over him you ****ing *****! I thought Rick was being really entertaining and it was completely ruined by that idiot.

I don't know what Bundujour is talking about. I don't think he was intimidated in the slightest.

I'm sure you understand that certain people find certain words offensive. I'm also sure you know what the "watershed" is.

This thread is about the live sky sports news coverage, and clearly you haven't seen it. You have no business here.

I thought Hatton was supposed to be real classy, and wasn't bothered by Floyd's antics. I'm suprised he said those things on national T.V like that. I mean, the guy doesn't take himself too seriously like Floyd, so you wouldn't think he would lose his cool like that.
