Why was Todd Duffee released so quickly?

What did he do to **** off the UFC brass so much that he was dumped after just one loss? Was he using PEDS? Laugh if you want to but I would have been intrigued by a potential Duffee vs Lesnar future fight if Duffee could have avenged his peculiar loss to Russo. I don't think it would have been a headliner but I'm sure it could have been an attractive co-feature on a future PPV card. Duffee was on the cover of Muscle and Fitness and went from a hot fighter to being cut all virtually at the blink of an eye. The UFC needs to build their HW roster not scale it down. With a potential dominant champ in recent Lesnar conquerer Cain Velasquez - the UFC needs guys like Duffee to build up as a future challenger.

Dana White said in an interview with Ariel Helwani that he had an attitude problem and that it seemed to him that "he doesn't want to be in the UFC, he doesn't like being in the UFC." He also said that he could work his way back into the organization via fighting in smaller leagues.

The only reason I can think of is that maybe he was disgruntled by his contract. Has Strikeforce reached out to him yet? The guy has some skill to go along with the monster physique. And, like I stated before, the UFC needs to be cultivating heavyweight talent not discarding it.

I'v heard a few people say Duffee isnt the easiest guy to get along with so it could well be he just rubbed someone influential up the wrong way once too often. It could be contractual aswell I spose as Duffee only earnt $8k agenst Russow, he did still seem to be intersted in returning to the UFC but perhaps he was turning down fights because he thinks he can earn more high up the card on a smaller show? We've seen it before afterall with guys like Rizzo and Monson who are good enough for big orgs sticking to smaller shows because they pay better.

Duffee is a homosexual who would beg other athletic men for them to allow him to suck their cocks as he believed their semen would make him stronger.

he only got 8k for the Russow fight? **** me, didn't realise UFC purses were so pish.
Apparently it was a combo of a bad attitude and an egg chin. He didn't respond well to getting put out cold with about the first punch he took in the fight, and it didn't even look that big a punch.
He looks too muscular, and gassed way too easy. It was a bit like Wlad-Brewster.

    2 things I heard:

He had some nagging injuries that he wanted to let heal up and White wanted him to fight before he was ready and Duffee said "No" so they released him.

Also, there was rumors of White not wanting to invest time and money in him and for him to fail a drug test for PED's.

And there is the issue of his fragile Glass Jaw he got KOed by a nothing punch from a guy that had titties and a huge gut. That did not look very good.

    Cause he humiliated them

They billed him as the new breed of heavyweight. All through the fight Rogan was suckling his steroid reduced willis..... and then he gets KTFO by a jab

Once of the most hilarious moments in UFC history as the Zuffa hype machine grind to a pathetic humiliating halt

Todd Duffee - the true face of the UFC heavyweight division

The saga of Todd Duffee reads like a parody of the hype that exists in the fight game.

Todd Duffee, the hugely muscled, square-jawed heavyweight with a record of 5-0 (5 KOs) steps up to the big leagues, the UFC, for the first time and destroys another prospect, Tim Hague, with the fastest knockout on record.

Half the UFC fanbase jumps on his nuts as the next big thing. Many claim that he is as good a prospect as Cain, Carwin or Dos Santos, despite having seen him fight for exactly seven seconds. Even those who aren't on the bandwagon acknowledge that he has potential.

So the next fight comes around: UFC 114. Mike Russow (12-1, 1 NC ) is a serious heavyweight looking to make a splash after winning his debut, but nobody cares. This fight is all about Duffee, the 4/13 favourite, getting another spectacular KO. Mike Russow has already lost to some Russian guy, and besides, he looks like a fat slob compared to Duffee, Muscle & Fitness's cover model for May.

The fight begins with Rogan and Goldberg hyping up Duffee, and at the start he looks every inch the 'UFC KNOCKOUT ARTIST' Muscle & Fitness claims, bouncing big right hands off the face of the hapless Russow, again and again. But Russow, despite getting his ass kicked, doesn't go down. Rogan notes that Duffee is slowing, and should make sure he doesn't gas himself out.

Going into the third round it looks like it might be a lopsided unanimous decision win instead of a seventh stoppage. What a chin Russow has, people will say, as the Duffee war wagon rolls on to the next challenger.

Then the war wagon crashes as Russow knocks Duffee the **** out.

Nobody can believe it. It's a great, gutsy comeback by Russow, but this is hardy the stuff of Douglas/Tyson. With one punch Duffee, the superman striker, is now Duffee, the glass jawed joke. On the forums former fans leap off the Duffee bandwagon by the hundred, many start slating the man the were salivating over only hours before. A few months later he is quietly released from the UFC due to 'attitude problems'.

And nobody talks about Mike Russow.
