If you take the KO ratio out of his victories only, but out of his total fights is lass. Still, he surpasses Rocky and Vitali.

On the other side is Usyk with the unseen 0% KO ratio as a heavyweight.

Boxrec just changed how they measure KO percentage. I still prefer the ratio to be over total fights. It's more accurate. But, if they do it over total fights, guys like Bonecrusher Smith fall to like 50 percent.

Regardless, Wilder is among the very best punching heavyweight champs ever, if not very best, ever.

I know, but BoxRec is reckless for the last days. Whatever, Wilder holds the record for the highest KO ratio, calculating it either way. True, a huge amount of his opponents were low class or average, but he isn't the only champion who faced such, while the others don't always finish them.

Of course, winning convincingly is not a lesser victory, but it is worth discussing this once again for ine rason: no matter what Wilder lacks as a boxer, his power is way too dangerous. But some people tend to discredit that.

Hahaha come on my friend. I'm just going off what you said. Miller was signed so there couldn't have been negotiations, but, under your own admissions, there was negotiations lol. Please don't undermine your own comments.

This is all ancient history but it was fun to kill a few hours in work debating the subject.

Until next time. Look after yourself.

I don't buy the cherry picking Fury. If Wilder truely fought Fury based on him being diminished, why fight him 2 more times.

In reality he was never that hyped up during his career, he was just seen as a paper champion prior to the Fury fights, who refused to unify with Wlad and ducked a fight with Povetkin.

Then he milked the whole Joshua/Wilder unification simply to boost his profile but right out ducked Joshua. They initially agreed terms in the summer of 2018, Wilder to get a flat fee, contracts were drawn up and sent to Wilder's team but they just kept delaying and then just refused to sign. Then we had the whole 50/50 split debacle which would be like Dubois asking Usyk for a 50/50 split, which obviously was just another clear duck. Then we had Wilder email 50 mill to Hearn directly with a $50 mill offer with a 24hr deadline, lol and Finkel simply refused to meet Hearn to even discuss the offer, so again another clear duck. Then of course the DAZN deal which must be the biggest deal ever offered that was refused in the history of the sport, again a clear duck. Then even last year Hearn reached out again only for Wilder to say he was focused on Helenius and wouldn't discuss any possible fight until after and then spent the whole build up talking about Joshua, lol, duck number 5 from Wilder.

But have to give Wilder credit, he really used Joshua and Hearn to build his own profile. Then of course we had the wild first fight with Fury, that's when his profile really exploded and his fanbase started really hyping him, ironically after a fight he clearly lost. Then of course the hype came crashing down after Fury abused him in the rematch.

It was a cherry pick gone wrong and one he couldn't just walk away from after the draw. Have to give Wilder some credit he could have just gone back to milking his title against PBC hand picked opponents again, but he had a taste of that PPV money, hard to go from an estimated $14 mill for the first fight and go back to 1-2 mill per fight like before.

Ironically it was Fury that initially ducked the rematch by signing with ESPN, though that was understandable given the money being offered.

In fairness though there are a lot of dangerous punchers Joshua hasn't faced or shown any interest in fighting.
Like Zhang, Bakole, Makhmudov, etc. He seems to have tried to avoid punchers since the Klitschko fight so ducking Wilder fits with this general pattern.

This. Actually he avoided punchers after Povetkin IMO, as Povetkin hurt him several times in that fight before Joshua was able to catch him. Then he fought Ruiz thinking he couldn't really punch and got exposed for having a really bad chin.

Please explain when Joshua was supposed to face Zhang? Why would Joshua be fighting Makhumdov or Bakole and neither of which would be tune up/ rebuilding fights.
