I just don't understand...I mean his chin isn't the best, yes but he was never closing to being out in the last 10 years against guys like Peter and Haye, yet he didn't dare to take ANY chances against Fury who really isn't that much of a puncher...the hell?
I too was baffled. He possesses one punch knockout power in either hand, and he was facing a HW with no real power, who's been dropped by a CW. Yet he looked terrified of exchanging. It just goes to show you how much psychology plays in determining the outcome of a fight. Tyson did a complete psyche job on him.
Wladimir looks to throw the 'picture perfect' punch at all times, whether it is the jab, right cross or leaping left hook. Fury didn't let him get in a position so he was reluctant to throw. Wlad waits for the right opportunity to throw it or tries to create the opportunity to throw it wheras people like Fury have no real rythmn so Wlad found it hard to get settled to throw. Anyone else more static than Fury and Wlad would have finished him off.
An example of an good fighter with a poor ring IQ. Wlad was programmed with one game plan, and when it did not work he could not adapt. Wlad was never much of a counter puncher. He likes to lead. Fury disrupted Wlad's jab, by either not standing still, or touching Wad with his own jab. When Wlad gets touched his reaction is either back away, or clinch. All the punching power in the world and his feeble in-ring mind would not let him unleash it.
Wlad should have unloaded some full force right crosses to the body and taken Tyson's arm-punches... or at least tried to. By the sounds of it that was the worst thing about Wlad's performance, he wasn't willing to risk getting hit at all.
Because he has to be set to throw his punches, and they come of the jab. Fury's own jab, his movement and his feints unsettled Wlad and prevented him from getting his own shots of.
As dumb as it sound to say about HW champion, he has very little heart but tremendous physical ability allowed him to be very very good, but when **** hits the fan he can not do anything about it, he watched belts go away without even trying, it was shameful!!! Lennox vs Vitali is example how you defend belts when you are losing, you ****ing let your hands go and fight, he cant do it doesnt have it in him, even great Emanuel Steward had to yell at him like he is schoolgirl to let his hands go vs Chambers(and he posed 0 danger for Wlad).
To say he did not try is untrue and not fair. Wlad took 11 rounds to figure out Tyson. In the 12th round he was having success and I thought he might knock him down as he caught him with some good hooks and stalking punches.
It felt sometimes Wlad was hoping or betting Fury will tired out and fall apart. Just he didn't. He seemed ready to go in the 12th but that was too little too late by Wlad.
Going for broke desperately isn't figuring somebody out. Wlad couldn't get off on Fury because he didn't stand stiff in Wlads wheel house and in direct line of his fire power. If Pulev , Jennings , Leapai , Chagaev , Haye were in there it would have been the same result.
Lol... Of course you go out of your way to discredit all of wlads opponents(who you pikced to beat him might I add) by saying Fury beats them in the exact same fashion. what a clown you are.
