    Why wasn't Ali-Liston 2 not declared a No Contest?

Looks very much like a WWE event, when viewed from
    afar.

Third party guy in the crowd Nat Fleischer starts screaming "To stop the fight...Liston down for over 10 seconds."

And Chris Dundee in Miami promoted wrestling too (Liston vs Clay I)

No evidence was ever found that a dive took place. Ali indeed landed a right hand strong enough to jerk Listons head via its forse. Listons kegs spasm as he lay on his back and he staggered to his right as the ring was filling with people a minute or so after the bout was over. Liston asked for smelling salts in his dressing room after the fight.

He was never down for a ten count, that's my issue.

Because Liston got knocked out. Why would they take that win away from Ali? He landed a punch, got the W.

I think this fight was the biggest farce in boxing history.

Ali was as much to blame for his antics, the officials, together with Fleischer, caused confusion and Sonny still showed reluctance to continue even if he did not get a count.

If Ali had of behaved we would no more. So it remains an embarrassing officiating blunder.

Without knowing who the fighters were you have one guy who is fired up, fast and keen and the other one dosnt look like he wanted to be there.

Ali was the superior man on the night. He was very sharp. And a conclusion was required.

The guys with the juice were the ones who botched, and no one wanted Sonny.

Remember watching this fight a couple of years back. If you watch the fight liston knew pretty early ali had his number. Ali always did have an aura about him.

Looked like liston knew the game was up and was looking to get out of there as soon as he could. Liston had regressed from the first fight.

Heard all about mob involvement etc but i really believe that above was the explanation behind the fight.

Always felt that liston didnt get the credit he deserves nowadays. He would really be rated higher than he is today if it wasnt for ali. Ali just had something about him a lack of fear maybe that liston couldnt deal with because there was plenty that had that fear of liston and probably for good reason.
