    ...and announcement of the fight ??

    if the board have the safety first policy of making sure boxers dont lose weight too quickly, why didn't warren get him weighed before going through with all the bollocks of announcing the fight and having the press conference ??

    unless of course it is all part of a bigger plan to build up a big british clash between them down the line. :think

    I'd like to think it was blind hope that the fight would be made and and if not, would get the card more publicity than the Braehmer fight. Still, any type of press is still good.

    Plus it does help build a clash in the future, Bellew had his moment, so the fight will be better to promote in the future. The sacrifice, is of course, pissing a lot of boxing fans off by still keeping the show PPV, but in the long run maybe they think the pros will outweigh the cons?

    Perhaps all boxers should be obliged to post their weight everyday on Facebook or Twitter. That way, us boxing fans would be much better informed when it comes to getting our hopes up when looking for a last minute replacement.

    Bellew came down on the train yesterday. The origonal press confrence was scheduled for 12 but put back to 1 as Bellew was travelling down.

    That's my thoughts as well, they could have delayed the press conference to see how Bellew was getting on with the weight officially. Instead Warren decided to make publicity for a future fight.

    Warren = *****

    Maybe fighters only have cheapo bathroom scales that can't be trusted?

    Or maybe people are inclined to believe everything they are told with no margin for error?

    I would have thought with the calamity that just happened the promoter/matchmaker would have got his true weight first and if not then at least stand him on some sort of scale prior to the presser! A **** up I think on all sides and the only bloke you got to feel sorry for is Nathan. If he loses Saturday, he needs to point a few fingers!

    Bellew said at the press conference he had complied with the BBB of C , so he had been weighed, but the last bit is always the hardest to get off, they had the final weigh-in on the evening I believe, so they gave him every chance, we should be gratefull he did not fight as at the Press Conference he looked drained and would have been extremely weakened for the fight. Bellew was talking of fighting till he had nothing left, we could have had another Watson case. We all wanted it to happen, but not on these terms. Cleverley and Bellew could happen in the future, it would be a great fight, but in reality we might have missed the boat.

    i have nothing against little tricks to build up fights....but to have a press conference announcing a fight and then hours later say bellew is 12 pounds over makes professional boxing look anything but professional..it does the sport no favours...especially in such a high profile event as this

    Fwanky is a clever S.O.B after all the mini hype a potential Bellew vs Cleverly built he knows he can put this bad boy on PPV in the Summer (**** poor under card included).

    Why wasnt Bellew weighed before he said yes to the fight? If he was so much over with so little time left the fight should have never have been put forward to the public.

    Naming the likes of Saturday's opponent when Braehmer initially pulled out, would'nt have made a trickle in the media.

    Bellew's involvement hit all the right spots publicity wise, and although warren will get the inevitable **** from the forums, he's not done too bad out of it.

    Clev's been lined up for his night in the spotlight, and Bellew v Clev when it happens (probably first/second defence) will be huge. The foreplay has been successful and the O2 or Liverpool will rammed when it happens.
