Why wasn't Berto-Mosley postponed?

This may be a stupid question but surely as they had a contract to fight eachother they would have just organised to do it at a later date.

They'll both be fighting next around the same sort of time won't they? (most likely)

Not that I mind too much, I'd much rather see Mayweather-Mosley if that gets made.

1- Berto not sure when he could be ready to fight.
    2- Mosley's been inactive for a while.

Are you actually going to suggest here Berto used his family members deaths in the Haiti earthquake as an excuse to make a quick buck?

The fight can't be postponed indefinitely. Berto doesn't know when he'll be back and SSM won't wait that long.

the only way berto makes money out of this is if floyd gave him some step aside money. but it just doesn't add up because the fight between floyd and the mosley/berto winner could have still be made by may 1st. and even if the winner got a bad cut or something it would have healed before they even started training.

Several news site said there was a postponement clause in the contract between Mosley and Berto. Berto could have exercise the right to a future date, but with the match up between him and Mosley completely gone it is said Berto was paid step aside money.

This worked out for everyone realy. He gets needed money for his family and it opens up the door for a Mosley Floyd fight.

Mosley isn't big on postponements and delays. Remember he didn't agree to a delay for Judah-Mosley.

Floydettes - Because Berto was paid by Floyd so Mosley can become available to fight him

becuase it would have made mosley inactive for over a year...a guy with his skills, name power, and ability shouldnt bee sidelined for that long

probably a well planned attempt by GBP to trap PBF into fighting Mosley. either PBF fight Mosley or he becomes irrelevant and boxings biggest joke.
