It was plainly obvious that the ref was blatantly trying to give Broner every advantage last night, and that the commentators were blindingly biased, so much so that after 8 rounds i predicted that the judges would rob Marcos.
Was anybody else expecting a robbery after the final bell ?

It was too lopsided to ever squeeze a non-Maidana victory out of that. There was no way Broner was winning this on the scorecards after the 2nd knockdown and I was sure the judges wouldn't be THAT crooked.

I was surprised to say the least, maybe they were so confident that broner would clearly outbox and dominate maidana that they didnt feel the need to slip the judges a backhander. Just paid the ref off as a little extra security along with the large ring.

I think they'd have been majorly pushing their luck if they had tried to give broner the decision last night.

I expected a robbery but in hindsight I think it was just too clear a win for them to give us a robbery. If that had been a broner win I think it might have been the worst robbery I can think of, broner got battered.

By the sounds of the crowd, the ref was a very brave man in trying to help Broner to win.Maybe he couldn't hear them. The judges were a bit nearer and didn't want a rerun of the Alamo.

It would have been the robbery of all robberies, there probably would have been fights in the crowd etc because there was no way Broner was even close to winning that fight. That's even forgetting the fact that he should have had 2 points taken off (1 for always using elbow, one for shot after the bell)

Yeah, it was just too lopsided to pull off, although it is interesting how Brain Kenny called out Bernstein and some of the others after the fight, questioning how they could have had it close half way through the fight. Kenny said he had Maidana clearly winning the fight. If you recall, Bernstein said he didn't have it that close, but he did. He had it a one round difference half way through.

I think it is so interesting how judging by these TV commentators tends to be groupthink. Sometimes I ask myself if they and I are watching the same fight. It shows who they are instructed to promote.

The ref. wasn't as bad as everyone is saying - very often knockdowns prevent robberies - they are (most often) a clear sign of dominance that even judges can't deny.

Agree with this, too one sided a fight for there to be any type of robbery and also Broner may have been the house fighter but he sure as hell wasn't the crowd favourite.

There is a case you could make that Maidana won all 12 rds as he landed the significant telling shots in every round, at best you could only argue for Broner winning 5 rds at the very most and that's if you were being very generous and biased towards him in order to give him rounds without him deserving them.

I had it 115-110 Maidana and that including giving any close round to Broner.

That's why it took a while to get the scorecards, they had already been filled out but has to be changed because it could've caused a riot.

Personally i felt the ref was against Broner. Broner kept looking to the ref for help and never got any. If the ref was on his side he would have let Broner stay down after the headbutt and quit declaring it a DQ. Im glad the decision was to the right man. Broner needed a loss to change his attitude. Although last night i looked at Broners twitter and he wrote something like 'It's not just Maidana im fighting tonight. So i wouldnt be suprised if Floyd secretly paid someone off to help Broner lose. The better man won last night.

I think the ref was pretty poor on both sides. It was a rough fight. I think Broner got a gift with Paulie so he wasn't going to get another one. I think that Broner's days of getting gift decisions are over. If he is able to come back he is going to have to earn it.

I gave Broner 3 rounds last night, but as much as i was grinding my teeth listening to the commentary team, i was worried that others would be taken in by there BS.
Having rewatched the fight earlier today after a good nights sleep, it was obvious that Marcos was always in control of the fight from the second that the first heavy shot landed in the 1st round.
I always had a lot of time for Paulie, but he left a sour taste in my mouth last night.
