It's hard for me to realize when I talk **** to some of you guys, that you just haven't been watching the sport very long. I have to catch myself and change my tone a little.:-( You just don't understand the dynamics of how a Heavyweight fighter (if he is any type of half-decent draw) will outdraw the little guys any time, barring some ATG legend or some fascinating matchup. It's not your fault really, and I don't know why people give young guys so much **** about how they perceive the sport. If anything I guess we should welcome new younger fans and teach them all we can about the sport...:good
Yeah... With me, my father took me to see boxing because he enjoyed it so much as a kid, but he never wanted me to participate, because my mom would kill him!:fire So I would walk down to the gym after school when I was supposed to be at basketball practice. It only lasted about two weeks before he followed me. After that he let me compete amateur, but by the time I got to high school, there was no more ****ing around! He tossed me a football (American Football) and I had no choice after that.
Yeah mothers have a lot more to say than fathers I remember one time I started boxing at age 10, my mother was furious about it, but it didnt last long enough cause most of my friends played football, (in america you call it soccer) so I had to follow them, I really do regret it though.
My father wanted me to play soccer for one year when I was in 3rd grade, because he thought I was too young for "football" so I ran away from home.:|:|:| **** that ****! He came to my Aunt's house that evening and gave me a good ass-whippin... Then the next day he signed me up for the city league football team. The whole time he was apologizing saying it was my mums idea and the only reason he gave me an ass-whippin because she was watching.
Separate issue, mate. Regardless of your personal feelings, the wider public still enjoy watching heavyweights.
:deal Yep. That's all there is to it. No one wants to pay money to see some little -ass dude fighting who they think they might be able to whip their asses outside the ring... The dumb-ass general public thinks they might be able to take on a little welterweight outside the ring. But these heavy's??? Not only are they good in the ring, but most people just think of them as big strong guys who could go into a bar and whip any 3 guys. (and they're probably right)
They are probably right, but the heavies of today are still boring as hell. Man I feel sorry for the people who paid to watch Wlad klitschko vs Ibragimov, that is the most boring fight I have ever seen in my 19 year old life
FLOYD WASNT AS BIG BACK THAN ..NEITHER WAS JOSE LUIS CASTILLO...I BELIEVE IT WAS ON AN UNDERCARD TOO...MUCH IN THE SAME WAY THAT CHRIS JOHN-ROCKY JUAREZ 2 WAS ALSO A MAIN EVENT TYPE FIGHT THAT THEY PUT ON A SOLID CARD RIGHT BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT:good
