why wasn't PBF BBC International Sports Personality of the year!

The actual reason PBF wouldnt get it (if you are actually asking) is that sadly boxing is so denegrated now that most people in the UK couldnt pick Folyd out of a line up ( big viewing figures for last night aside ) boxing is only back on its feet in this country in the last 12 months or so where as tennis and golf are HUGE so its no surprise that Woods and Federer are such commoon winners.

 

I've never supported Hatton, if you look at my previous posts I said PBF was gonna win lopsided decision and I also said that Hatton was not top10 P4P.

Not all British like Hatton.


Now Calzaghe on the other hand.....

 

Being the best in your sport isn't really a pre-requisite for winning SPOTY *cough* Henman *cough* - then again, neither is personality... *cough* Michael Owen *cough*

Rather than make a new thread, just wondering since Cooper, McGuigan and Calzaghe are the only boxers ever to win it, any reason why Benn and Eubank never did?

 

lewis won it in 1999. i think ali presented him the award.

 

Both were ITV fighters , might have had something to do with it. :huh

 

Oh yeah, it did say three but that was before Calzaghe won it.
