I don't think Rahman was as competitive as Ali. And while Rahman was fast and athletic, i don't think he was as quick as Ali. Wlad and Vitali were brothers but they did not have identical genetics. Vitali had a great chin and Wlad didn't. Rahman was happy to be a support person for his brother as opposed to a serious contender. Boxing is a hard sport and there is no reason to do it unless you truly desire it and need the money.
Bro-Lite | Boxing News 24 Fan Forum Here's a link to a thread I did a couple of years ago that I called, 'Bro-Lite'. Basically naming fighters who had a brother that just didn't make it at the top level even with that DNA shared with a world class sibling.
I think Wlad’s issue was more his reaction to being hit, his mindset. Vitali was mean and kept his eyes on the prize even when he was being lit up.
Surprising. I assumed 100% that this thread was made on the heels of and due to recently released extensive footage of Rahman boxing. At least new to me. See below: - This content is protected
I think Rahman looked pretty decent - of course the quality of the opponent has to be accounted for also. That he wasn’t as fast as Ali is no surprise but he still had quick hands all the same and he appeared to pay more heed to the body than his older bro. He appeared a bit more muscular than Ali, including the back muscles. His style isn’t exactly similar to Ali’s but I wouldn’t say it was completely dissimilar either - he held his hands up more for sure. His height is listed as 6’3 1/2”??? - the vision doesn’t corroborate imo. Very close to Ali in height but a shade shorter. Interesting that the genetic combination of the Mum and Dad (the latter not being at all) sired almost identically sizes offspring who were appreciably larger than both their parents. I wonder how big the Klit’s parents are or were?
And Wlad could hit like a truck but Vitali couldn't. Siblings don't get identical genes. Anyone who has (multiple) kids knows this.
