Foreman spent almost a year in Africa having jungle fever.

True. And also taking into account that George went into hibenation throughout 1975. Apart from that exhibition in Toronto.

Because Joe Frazier was the champion

    Not a good comparison

Why didn't George Foreman give Michael Moorer a rematch? Michael Moorer was the champion.

Let me answer a question with a question? Why does a champion inherently deserve consideration for not taking care of business when he had the opportunity?

Why does Ray Charles Leonard get criticized for securing an immediate rematch with Roberto Duran?

I don’t criticize him but Ray had a knack for taking advantage of people who weren’t as smart and savvy as him.

They blame Ray for Duran not taking care of himself between fights. Back to Ali he was undefeated when he fought Frazier and never lost his title in the ring.

Like I said, Ray was smart and savvy in a way that other boxers who only knew fighting weren’t. I think he knew Duran would (1.) behave like a Panama City street hoodlum who’d just come into a windfall after the fight; and (b.) wouldn’t run from the rematch out of pride and machismo.
