Why wasn't usyk wearing a protector cup?

    Dude, those things have massive padding on the waiste... Why even not wear one? Some guys pull it up like a chest protector as it helps to thwart off body shots. We've seen this with Lennox game plan to wear protector so Holyfield could not affect him to the body, and Oscar, when he was moving up fighting the bigger man in Vargas who packed a bigger punch.

    George Foreman said boxers can still hurt you thru the protector because they are used to knocking wind out of heavy bags, who knows? Maybe it woulda helped usyk to absorb that blow?

    Bump. I think Foreman was talking about HIS punch being able to break the belt guard. Just like hockey helmets don't break during when the puck traveling fast hits it, yet goons can crack them in half with roundhouse punches on skates!

    Technically you are not allowed to have the protector any higher than the line of the hips. In other words it is supposed to be below the bottom of the elastic on the waistband of the trunks.
