Cereal , I had hope just like you when Haymon started PBC more than a year ago. But looking back he didnt do ****. Same blueprint filled with mismatches as any other promoter does. Please dont mention the free TV fights cuz it"s easy to throw away money when it's not yours. And free TV fights dont bring in new fans if you put on gross mismatches most of the time like he did, on the contrary, more fans will run away from the sport, and guess what, ratings on free TV continued to fall. I'm very disapointed with Al Haymon cuz he had a chance plus a ****load of money and he blew it

 

i wouldn't waste your breath , this guy thinks haymon is going to make boxing more popular in europe than soccer.

id say he also believes haymon will hold the first boxing event on mars

 

Haymon was good for the fighters and the small promoters he used but even that back fired on him because if fighters got 7 figures for mismatches imagine how much they want for the real fights

Cereal Monotony made an ****ogy about something that really happened, Kentucky being the most overt example. Poor people in that state voting against their own interests willing to go without health insurance because of who proposed it.
It's not legitimate bringing up unnecessary racial stereotypes as you denigrate a Black man. I'm calling you out, deal with it. Others can criticise Al Haymon without being overt about it. How come you can't?

 

Any many more boring fights. Let me tell you something about the Wilder vs frenchie fight. Two african friends came over to watch that fight. They heard about Wilder saw some highlights but never a full fight so they wanted to see how good he is. I explained that frenchie isnt that good and should never be in the ring fighting for the WBC belt. So fight starts and its toe to toe, both fighters looked bad. So my friends left dissapointed and said that they would not start to follow Wilder because he's only hype and woulndt go far anyway. I was not surprised of their reaction as Wilder should have steamrolled that dude. But that's not important. What I understood was that Haymon can't win new fans with his bizz model and that only hardcore fans like us would still follow that kind of matchups. IMO Haymob should have used the bulk of his cash on BIG FIGHTS straight from the go and not "showcase" his fighters in meaningless fights. IMO he should have made "super six" type tournaments in all divisions from light-heavy downward and put those tournaments on FREE TV. He would 've risk it all, basically go for broke BUT then and only then he would've had a chance to succed and bring in new fans that woould follow each bracket and us hardcore fans would have worship him. INSTEAD we got what we got and more than year after PBC started boxing status is the same or even worse.

 

Those examples rarely pan out, but in fairness to CM, he's talking about the poor White man in places like Kentucky. They wouldn't be paying any premiums. You cannot deny that there's significant number of people rooting for Obamacare downfall, even those that would directly benefit from it. As boxing fans, we would benefit if PBC is successful yet there's no shortage of folks rooting against it because who is running it. That colors the criticism.
