Ali was just one tough son of a *****. Great skill and ring wit to go with his mental and physical toughness. What a fighter.

Fixed again. This post has been fixed more times than a randy black ram who can't help but get some of that sweet mutton.

Simple, he rarely took hard shots and when he did he usually just shrugged them off. Think about it. We never saw Ali take shot after shot. He'd usually get caught just one punch fight through it. It's the guys that take shot after shot that impress as far as having great chins. That being said, most experienced fight fans recognize Ali as having a great chin.

    Yes, I read the thread.

You started this thread only 20minutes after you posted in there. That thread only barely got to the second page. It's not exactly a good sample to base an entire thread about, especially one with a blanket statement saying "why don't we consider Ali to have a great chin?".

When you asked me, "Hey fool did you read this thread, which is the one I'm reacting to..", I think maybe you meant to say "OVERreacting to" - much like you are overreacting to my comment about how interesting it was that this thread was started in the first place.

Please answer how many people on that thread mentioned so many boxers and never mentioned Ali...this is a typical thing here on ESB, I don;t know how long you been here but most of the posters can see history past 10 years ago..I am simply rectifying that fallacy....

I can mentioned 20 boxers to you with great chins you never heard...lets start with PR first Boxing champion ....fact Sixto Escobar never was drop on his career in over 80 pro fights..how about that..who else less see how about Bennie Briscoe Briscoe who only person to top stop him on his career was Rodrigo Valdez...como on I darae you to mentioned more boxers with great chins..that I can mentioned on the top of my head....fool...

I was simply reacting to the typical McCall , Tua replies, who I donl;t considered having ATG chin status

    O.k. I'll answer.
First guy asked the question and didn't give any names.
Second guy said, "if your talking current.."
Third guy, in keeping with the "current" theme of the previous post, named some current fighters
Fourth guy named mostly current fighters, and finally the first older boxer: Chuvalo
    Fifth guy named Jay Leno
You then posted and named Ali
After that, two more guys came in and mentioned two more modern fighters.
You then made an entire thread about why ESB doesn't think Ali had a great chin.

Before you made THIS thread, what do you think the post results would have been if the question was, "Did Ali have a great chin?"? Did you think the poll results would have been mostly "NO"?!?! If you don't think the poll results would have been that way, then what exactly was the reasoning behind this thread?

That's great and I'm very proud of you, however it isn't about whether or not you know who has a great chin and who doesn't. The point is that you think ESB doesn't think Ali has a great chin, all based on a few responses.

Like I said, all my responses were about why you think ESB doesn't think Ali had a great chin. Was someone doubting your particular knowledge of great chins throughout history? I'm sure you know your chins, so I don't know what the purpose is for this chin competition you are challenging me to.

I asked you what you thought would be the results if you had a poll that said, "Did Ali have a great chin?". Do you honestly think the majority would answer "NO"?

If you don't think that most would answer "NO", then would that indicate to you that ESB considers Ali to have a great chin?

Robinson was dropped numerous times and Gavilan was dropped by Basilio and Williams.

This is coming from the same joke who said Jones was not a top 100 fighter, he is not to be taken seriously.

In my book he is not...end of of the story..and I am not the only one...Herb Golberg, Bert Sugar also are in agreement that he is at best between 90 and 100
