Funny how the tides turn in boxing. Hardly the first or last fighter and following that will criticize the old king for not fighting the new 'killer' of the division at his doorstep, while then going on and defending the very same thing they criticized when their killer becomes the old king. Was painfully evident in this scenario (G and Martinez)
Don't worry about what I spend my time doing so as long as I'm not spamming the forum with lies and double standards like the GGGoons.
sadly that is much of what you do. you are a carbon copy of the guys you despise, you just hype a different guy.
I never liked Sergio.Martinez, he reminded me of high rolling playboy that rode around in limousines all day drinking Sky Vodka.... But he was a far better 160lb champ IMO than GGG will ever be. It is true he had far less defenses , but he at least went out and fought top rated guys, even if they were mainly overhyped Euros, that's not his fault for ranking them so highly.
Right off the bat GGG never faced top rated, bigger opponents with KO power like Paul Williams or Kelly Pavlik.....hell even JC Chavez was more dangerous than about 88% of GGGs opponents.... And I've always thought Mathew Macklin and Charles Murray were highly overrated, but they were highly rated non the less. Alex Bunema as well, he didn't enjoy the lofty rankings typically afforded to European fighters, but he was a tough hombre non the less.....i would pick Bunema to manhandle GGG as a matter of fact, much like he did to Roman Karmazian
Right let’s break this down. 1. Martinez never faced Charles Murray. 2. Bunema was at 154. 3. Pavlik was his first venture at 160, it was a good win. Secondly Williams was a career 147-160 guy never settling, it was a good win but there are a lot of 160 guys I’d pick over him and Williams wasn’t a big puncher. 4. Chavez jr was/is a walking punchbag and only made it interesting due to his size, there is nothing top tier about him. 5. Macklin, good solid fighter but compare performances from both fighters. Cheers.
Actually, I'm mostly reactionary. I don't go around making many Anti threads. You may feel that I do because of your biased, but reality is that I just point out double standards. For example, if someone accuses JMM or roiding because he bulked up, or someone accuses Floyd of using PEDs for getting caught with an IV, if that person happens to be a hardcore Pacquiao fan (which they usually are) I just simply state that their is ALSO circumstantial evidence that Pacquiao was on the juice when he refused random testing, demanded deadlines, and was moving up through the divisions without losing speed or power. Another example is when someone says Canelo ducked Golovkin, I first clarify that Canelo did vacate his titles but immediately challenged GGG to a fight at 155, that's hardly ducking, and secondly I point out that if you're going to call Canelo a ducker for postponing the fight with Golovkin then it is rather hypocritical to give GGG a pass when he himself staright up declined a fight with his mandatory and was stripped as a result. It my make your skin burn, but its hardly what you accuse me of. I am consistent with how I measure fighters. I don't have two sets of standard for different fighters as many of the fanatics on this site do.
“Another example is when someone says Canelo ducked Golovkin, I first clarify that Canelo did vacate his titles but immediately challenged GGG to a fight at 155, that's hardlyducking, and secondly I pointout that if you're going to callCanelo a ducker for postponingthe fight with Golovkin then it israther hypocritical to give GGGa pass when he himself staright up declined a fight with his mandatory and was stripped as a result.” You do realise that it was ME who brought up the whole Canelo dropping his belt as a “duck” in comparison to GGG doing the same to Derevyanchenko, to prove YOUR DOUBLE STANDARDS, which infact you went on to do. Don’t act as though you brought this or that up to prove other people wrong Flipper. People see you for what you really are.
That's one of the great ironies on here with all the Triple G bashers attacking me and calling me his number one fanboy. I was aggressively anti-GGG fanboys for quite some time due to this very debate. It really pained me, because all along I was a Golovkin fan, but his fanboys at the time were the very definition of unbearable, quite frankly many of them still are fanatical nutcases that greatly annoy me. I've always hated that there always has to be a good guy or a bad guy in these equations, like everyone is Vince McMahon on here. People need someone to hate, and that sickens me especially when directed at an undeserving target like Maravilla. Sergio Martinez was done, as in stick a fork in him done by the time Golovkin became a name, yet Maravilla still got consistent grief and was attacked regardless. It all came across as quite bloodthirsty and sickening to me. Sergio Martinez was one of the few good guys in this sport, and the fact that anyone wanted to see the shell of him thrown in with a monster like GGG when he could barely walk was sadistic and flat-out cruel.
What? Bro, who nominated you face of the GGGoon brigade? Many GGGoons call Canelo a ducker for not fighting Golovkin straightaway. My point being that if Canelo is a ducker, then by the same standards Golovkin is a ducker. Period.
