Why weren't old time Boxers punch drunk?

    A lot of the old time fighters also died at a relatively young age for a variety of reasons, before longterm effects of TBI would be apparent.

    Him and Nelson ended up as basket cases.

    If boxing was like that today, I would be in the prohibition movement!

    There is evidence that Louis was suffering minor brain damage, as early as the Walcott fight.

    It is one of the sadder stories in boxing.

    He was institutionalized after he retired, and he would go out for a run, and tell people that he was training for Joe Gans.

    Gans himself was dead by then.

    Anybody who does not feel nostalgia for that era of boxing, doesn't have a soul, and anybody who wants it back, doesn't have a brain!
