This fight is a rare treat for boxing fans, the top 2 HW prospects facing off against each other, can't remember this ever happening before. Whyte's an absolute beast, a threat to anyone in the division. A real 50-50 fight
AJ Oluwafemi Olasheni is going to do a job on Dillan Whyte. Razor Ruddock beat Lewis in the amateurs and we all saw what happened in the pros. Whyte is going to get executed. I was hoping he would take AJ into the later rounds but the way he is going on he may get clicked early.
I don't mind who wins on Saturday. I'm neutral. But the amateur fight means nothing to me. It was 6/7 years ago, in a tiny ring, with huge gloves and head gear, and both of them (especially Whyte) threw plenty of wild swings whilst they were off balance. Also, it was obviously only a 3 round fight. So unless you're putting forward a case that's it's given Whyte a psychological advantage, I really can't see how it's relevant. Both guys look completely different at this stage of their careers. From what I've seen of both of them, I think Joshua will win because of Whyte's lack of speed. But may the best man win.
Looking at Whyte's recent fights, he has a definite chance. Neither of them has faced top opposition - but the power is there. I expect a WAR - and I give Whyte a good chance. -Kiwi
Did you actually watch Whyte's fight with Minto and come away thinking 'Yes, this guy has a chance'? He looked awful and left himself awfully exposed on multiple occasions. If he does that against Joshua, he'll get ironed out within a few rounds.
Watch his previous fights too. The guy has power, a good jab, and heavy hands. Maybe AJ wins - but I think Whyte will put up a very good fight. -Kiwi
Hang on. You created a thread saying Whyte will beat Joshua and now you're saying maybe AJ wins. You don't sound that confident
I said in my opening post that Whyte has a good chance. Here are my exact words- "I believe there is at least a 50 percent chance of Whyte blasting Joshua out of there. Either way - expect a WAR. Who will win? -It is far less certain than most people think." -Kiwi.
I watched the original fight last night, DW looked like he already had a pretty solid base compared to now - AJ has come a LONG way since that fight. It only reinforces my sentiment that DW has a punchers chance, the odds are AJ's stocks will go way up.... though good on him and his team for taking the risk as it's not a free win and his chin may well be tested.
