And don't say that Wilder needs a tuneup fight after injury. Thats completely bull****! What he needs is to schedule fight against some top guy like Povetkin, Parker or Fury. Then get solid 6 month training camp, have good sparring partners and then show to the fight night. Beating bums don't develop you nowhere as a fighter. Its hard work in the gym and fighting elite opponets that do it.
Why does Deonkey only fight trash? Its because he is not very good, and would lose against any of the other top names. Therefore to keep his belt, he only fights trash cans. The WBC are in on the scam, presumably because they want the belt stateside, and cannot see any other US HW out there who is a better bet. Its trashing the WBC brand, which was at one time the most respectable strap....but you cannot blame Deonkey. In sparring with Wlad and Haye- Deonkey was sent home before the end of the first day, because was dropped multiple times and simply not good enough to share a ring with either as a sparring partner. That explains his reluctance on a personal level.
