So 90% of his opponents were ranked when he defeated them. Nice record.

Povetkin ruined the fight by testing positive not once, but twice. Also, Hearn offered Wilder $4 million for Whyte. Wilder wanted $7 million, but Hearn refused. The $15 million offer to fight Joshua was a lowball offer, since it doesn't give Wilder a percentage when he's bringing a lot of interest and viewership to the fight. When Wilder made Joshua a counter offer Joshua was getting a $50 million guarantee along with PPV revenue as long as the fight was in America. Considering that the Joshua-Parker fight was a very lackluster performance for Joshua, I'd be shocked if Wilder took less than 50/50 at this point. If Joshua has another poor showing against Povetkin Wilder will end up with even more leverage.

15 Million is a lowball offer because Wilder brings alot of what to the fight? He hasnt brough a lot of anything to any of his previous 40 fights. Nobody wants to watch him when he is in America on a prime time slot for free but we are to accept that when he fights abroad and its on US PPV in the middle of the day clashing with all the other major American sports everybody is all of a sudden going to become a massive Wilder fan?

Yes he certainly does deserve a percentage split but but knowing the rough figures Anthony Joshua fights do, and considering the rought figures Deontay Wilder does, 15 Million is not a terrible offer. If only Deontay was able to prove or show that he is can draw bigger money and bigger crowds he would of had an argument here.

    Incorrect.

Povetkin had one positive test for Meldonium, which is hardly a steroid, and which was well under the permissible limit.

In other words, the Wilder fight should have gone on.

Povetkin had two chances to fight Wilder. The second time all Povetkin had to do was fight and beat an out of shape Stiverne to become mandatory, but still failed yet another test.

I'd love you to show your working on that calculation.

Good question. It was posted on another forum which I can't link to here because of the auto filter. Not sure why that is but don't want to get in trouble trying to get round it. I can ask the poster on there however if they will give some info on sources etc and get back to you.

True but remember Stiverne also failed a test earlier for that eliminator, difference was despite Stiverne failing a test he was cleared days later and then fought Wilder as a mandatory challenger without even fighting an eliminator.

Seems a bit weird both fail a test for the eliminator, one gets a mandatory shot, another is kicked out of the rankings until he pays a bribe... I mean fine, but doesn't get a shot.

Wilder seems to have been happy to fight 2 known dopers in Stiverne and Ortiz but when it comes to Povetkin or Whyte he doesn't want to know even though they would provide him record paydays.
