Povetkin has a great chance of upsetting Wlad. He has excellent hand speed, loves to fight inside, throws a high number of punches/combos, has an iron chin, and has very underrated power. He is also a very versatile and highly groomed fighter. Imo if anyone out there can take Wlad down, its Povetkin. LMAO to those of you taking Wlad to ko him in under 5 rounds......ridiculous

WTF are you blabbing about. Povetkin did fight at superheavy since his 19yo kickboxing world championship, and he one of the fastest kids on the block. He is no cruiser.

There's certainly not been any indication of a weak chin on Povetkin, so I think a quick blowout is a little overzealous of Wlad fans, yes.

My main concern is the size. I just don't see any way of him being able to overcome Wlad's size and newfangled uberjab.

Yep there are many concerns in this fight for Povetkin. The biggest thing he needs to do to take down the champ is get more head movement when he comes in. He cannot eat as many rights from Wlad as he did from Chambers. I think people are taking this a little too seriously though. My personal opinion (from seeing damn near every Povetkin fight) is that this Chambers fight wasn't really his style. He realized after round 4 that he was losing rounds from being countered all the time. His solution? Punch output. He knew he could double Chambers output and in turn win rounds. So he went out and threw lots of combos and in turn won damn near every round after. It was sloppy and he wasn't landing much but he got the job done. This is what makes him a versatile fighter, and why imo I think he could possibly upset Wlad. He is as tough as they come mentally and does what he needs to do to get the job done. He even said after the fight that he did not expect Chambers to come in and do what he did, so he adapted. Unfortunately everyone saw THIS fight of course because it was HBO, and think he's a little sloppy and always eats rights. Not true

no one is saying he has a glass jaw but he gets hit way too much for an upper tier hw. If Chambers busted his face up and bothered the White Lion with his feather dusters, what's wlad's bombs gonna do to him. He also would be walking right into wlad's straight punches.

To say his chin is "iron" at this point is ludacris since he has not faced a legit hw puncher. he is a solid hw who can pick up a belt but will never be the dominant force many of his nuthuggers were rambling about. He just gets hit way too much. i am 90% certain wlad will tko him :yep

Povetkin will have to do a lot of improving to stand a chance against Wlad. I don't know if it's because he's inexperienced, but he's not going to beat Wlad if he continues fight the way he did against Chambers. It just shows that amatuer experience is different than pro experience. He's currently 15-0, he's about 5 or 6 fights away from beating Wlad who is the #1 heavyweight, so he doesn't need to be rushed. Get him with guys like Dimintrenko or some B level fighters to improve his skills.

Nice to see him take good challenges, if they become a reality obviously.

Exactly the way I see it. These are 2 good boxers but Wlad is great. He will beat both in impressive fashion. Then posters like Relentless, KObyBriggs & Punisher33 will say Wlad was ducking Peter's fat ass to fight undefeated "bums" who have belts or are the mandatory contenders. :-(

I realize where your coming from, and you have good points. My point is that in order to beat a guy like Chambers, who is an excellent defensive fighter, you need to do exactly what Povetkin did. Throw LOTS of punches and take some in order to deal some cause he's not exactly known for his power. How Povetkin fought this fight IS NOT necessarily how he always goes about his business in the ring. Do you guys honestly think he will fight Wlad the same way he fought Chambers? If you say yes to that then you don't realize how versatile the gold medalist is.

Nah, Wlad will end the fight with a right hand. Straight right's are kryptonite to southpaws and Wlad's is the very best, most powerful & most quickly executed.

The fact is Ibragimov, Povetkin, Chagaev, Peter, Valuev & Maskaev are the very best & WK's cleaning house starting with Iggy!

I don't think either Sultan or Alexander are in any danger of being emaciated anytime soon. If they are, they can always fight at Cruiser.

Eviscerated? In a figurative sense, maybe, although I doubt it.

I would hardly say Chambers "banged him about," although did land some good, sharp right hands.
