You guys hear his post fight interviews, the way he chastises him after career defining wins, he always makes up an excuse. I think what it is he likes blood and guts guys like Gatti who struggles, but wont give a virtuoso credit becuase it looks to easy.

When floyd was gonna move up to fight Gatti, Merchant said it wouldnt happen, it did...when he moved up to face Castillo Merchant said he shoulve stayed at 130 and fight casamayor and freitas even though none wanted any part of him.

Mayweather is a 5 weight champion, clearly the most skilled complete fighter in the sport, beat more champions than all the guys he praises hasnt floyd beaten like 16 champions.

Just because he is a ***** doesnt take away from his accomplishments and fools like Merchant and Skip Bayless disrespect Mayweather like he is a club fighter

He will never gte his due from people that dislike him as a person.

Regarding Floyd's talents and abilities, Merchant gives Mayweather his props. Merchant has a problem though with Mayweather's fighting style, and his persona.

He does hate his fighting style but honestly if you look at his interviews with floyd....he belittles all his accomplishments, if he beats someone everyone said he should fight there is always an excuse....Ive never seen him do any other fighter like he does Mayweather......whether he likes it or not Mayweather is a future hall of famer the best fighter of his era and has beat everyone in front of him.......dude is 35 and has been a champion what like 14 years out of 16 years....Name one fighter who has done that its kinda sad:-(

Merchant probably thinks floyd is the greatest fighter he has seen, he probably wishes floyd would prove it more by fighting tougher oppositions which merchant himself see's as a threat.

    This!
Don't forget, Larry has been covering fights before Floyd was even born.
And Larry is familiar with fighters like Robinson , Leonard, Hearns, Hagler, Duran and Conn who fought everybody , and didn't act like a twat.
Floyd overreacts when it comes to Larry and runs away from him as if he was scared.

Larry always acknowledges Floyds talent,he just really wants to see him in a war.He is a bit out of order at times to Floyd post fight but i think some of that is down to Floyd not answering most of the questions directly.
I thought Larry was a disgrace after the Ortiz fight tho, acting like Floyd was a hooligan and Ortiz's headbutt was accidental.

really outside of Manny is this era....who hasnt he fought? IDK why the hell they just wont fight im not gonna blame neone if i did it would be Arum....Manny and Floyd want to fight each other we all know this they've said it..........Really how can you discount Mayweather's opposition

He beat a hall of famer in his first championship fight....is considered by Manny the greatest fighter ever at 130...beat Castillo convingly in a rematch to his closest rival unlike someone....

I agree with you, but according to Merchant floyd has not tested himself enough.

:deal great post...on the war thing i feel you...Merchant feels every great champion needs a war or a come from behind win.......hell even Whitaker showed his heart not just skill coming back to kayo Hurtado....if floyd keeps fighting it will happen...As a boxing fan I hope so and it will **** alot of critics up

Merchant will never give him his due, he thinks his opinion is very important like he is same ATG fighter or something, he often doesnt give respect to fighters but he never stepped in the ring thats what i hate about him!!!

a lot of people dislike Floyd cos he is too good. They hope when they tune in it will be close, but then **** on Floyd cos he is too good and makes it look easy.If Floyd had to dig deep they would like him more, but thats what he done against Oscar,Castillo,Chavez. For the most part Floyds career is full of great performances, not tough fights and for some reason, its held against him
