Why wont Larry Merchant give Floyd his just due?

Floyd has made HBO a lot of money too.


I don't see why everyone thinks he has to be all gracious and thankful and ****. It shouldn't matter. HBO, and fighters (including Floyd) have made Larry Merchant a lot of money. He's the one that needs to be more gracious.

 

I'm glad that Merchant is on HBO, to be honest. He might be cranky, and sometimes he's too biased against technical, slow paced fights and styles, but at least he's honest, and he's not afraid to give his opinion to anyone. He'll offer respect, but he'll also just as readily offer up criticism. It's a refreshing change to the cheerleading some of the other commentators indulge in...I still remember them raving about Linares as if he was the greatest fighter of all time.
