I'm not disputing the result of Burns-Katsidis, I though he won it but the judges scorecards were way to high imo. If Kats had won it I have no doubt he would have been robbed, the judging over here is getting worse and worse, if it keeps going its gonna come to the point when no one will want to come here and box.

Katsidis has had about 500,000 reasons to come over here 3 times...

Fair enough on the money reasons but if I were a foreign boxer who was looking to push forward with my career I wouldnt be fighting in britain unless I was 100% sure i could knock the guy out

Then you would not be a professional boxer...

If 95% of the reason pro boxers are fighting is not money, then unless your name is de la Hoya et al, you should not have a licence, as mentally you are unfit to box...

    Yes.

If you are going to be paid on average for arguments sake £10,000 a fight, if someone offers you £100,000 to fight abroad, you take it.

The obsession with defeat is now a Internet thing. Promoters are looking at performance, if you are part of the reason a promotion makes money, you will continue to get work, win, lose or draw...

I think your getting confused with wanting to be a gatekeeper or journeyman at lower level than aspiring to be a champion. If your not in it to win then why bother. As a fan I want to see as close to 50/50 fights as possible, if they are just coming over for cash then I wouldnt bother watching.

Obviously that doesn't include tonights bout because I'm sure Katsidis felt he could win but in other fights you know the scorecard is written before the fight begins - i wouldn't pay hard earned cash to watch that

Any fighter making £100,000+ is no Journeyman/gatekeeper, no matter hiw many defeats they have on the record.

A decent numbers record does not always define you or make you money. Buck Smith was 148-5-2 but a Journeyman; Freddie Pendleton was 33-17-4, but the generally considered finest 135lber on the Planet...

its in the UK though, a lot of the judges judging in Germany aren't German.

I'm not saying that they are all paid off or anything (although it may go on with some) but if they are put under certain pressures to favour certain boxers then they are going to do it.

And it isn't just based on tonights fight, I though the right boxer won tonight but if he hadnt I'm pretty sure he would have got the decision (unless completely dominated)

So what you are saying is that when the judges step off the plane they are infected with a pro Brit virus....I don't think so

that isnt really the point, if your a big name like Katsidis or bigger your gonna think twice about coming over here for a fight.

If your a Buck Smith then sure you would take the extra money cause you aint going anywhere anyway.
