nope I'm saying if your an official and your getting payed well to officiate on some promoters cards then your going to hyave a certain bias towards them - I'm not saying all but it does happen.

You really think Katsidis thought twice, when he saw the purse? Sure he gets kudos off us couple of thousand or so Internet boxing nerds, but apart from us and his family, who is going to be interested in a Katsidis fight without TV spin?

A tenner says Katsidis signed that contract to fight Burns, quicker than a Ray Robinson left hook against Gene Fullmer...

yeah but I think Kats though he could KO him and after taking beatings of Marquez and Guerrero I'm not sure if he's sure he can hang at world level much longer. The risk can work in his favour.

On the otherhand if you have a highly rated and unbeaten prospect who is looking to stay at world level (or even whatever level they are at) for a good while longer or even want to push themselves to another level then they may think twice about boxing over here and then we as fans miss out.

Look how dubious a lot of boxers are at fighting in Germany, do you want the UK to end up like that.

  5. You think the judging is bad here.. **** me watch some of that German ****...Some of their judging is a disgrace

There was at least 3, 4 rounds in that fight IMO. I've no real problem with 117-112.

I would say its comparable - Cox/Sai, Dallas/Page, Norton/Williams and Smith/Simpson are just a few recent examples from the top of my head

I had it 115-113, i thought the judges score were a bi high but my rant is more aimed in general than at this particular fight

Every Country favours their own fighters. Brits have been screwed left right and centre having bouts in the USA and Continental Europe. Sugar Boy Malinga was arguably royally screwed three times in Britain, and that was 15+ years ago.

But it says Professional Boxing, on tin. So weather you are 0-50, or 50-0 if the money is good, you take it.

If you do not, ask Alex Garicia what happens...

Well you can expect that in close fights but its getting to the point where it happens and the fights aren't even close - that aint a hometown decision - not that that happened tonight but it has in other fights this year

As I have continually stated, this is professional boxing. Hell, go back to Tom Molineaux in his first fight with Tom Cribb (1810); fighting abroad in Britain, USA, Germany, Italy, Spain or Timbuktu, prepare to be screwed...

It all depends on the fight but these days people do like to look after their record and a loss can seriously affect there future purses - take Lopez, Lemieux as examples of boxers who will have lost a lot of money due to a loss on their record.

I know they were both lost out but give me a few minutes and ill think of robbery's were the boxer lost some marketing credibility on the circuit. And i know both of these can come back to top level but the set backs have cost them money in the mean time and it will take a while to get back to the point were they are as marketable as they were

im not saying it doesn't happen or that it can be eradicated but if there are enough of them then there will be certain fights we miss out on. I can accept home town decisions sometimes but some of the ridiculous cards have a knock on affect.

How many times have you seen negotiations break down because a boxer doesn't want to fight in their opponents back yard - this is the main reason why. Like i said we are the ones who end up missing out through this in the end.

next time a fight breaks down due to this reason and I see you complain ill remind you about this

Alex Garcia turned down a $1,000,000 fight with Heavyweight Champ Riddick Bowe, to "gain more experience"

That "experience" would consist of blowing a Million Dollar pay day, so he could lose Mike Dixon...

This tells me, if the money is right, take it!
