Why Would Anyone think Chris Areola could defeat a LEGIT Heavyweight???

Looking at Travis Walker out class him before getting KO'd told me everything I need to know about Arreola. Then compound that with the fact that the guy NEVER did roadwork, never took care of his body, and never dedicated himself completely to boxing and you have a overhyped fat mexican.

 

why? Cause people have been reaching for a while to find that next exciting heavyweight champion. In addition, with the heavyweight division isn't exactly a hot bed of talent at the moment, so at this point it seems just about anyone with a winning streak (ref Ray Austin) can become a legitimate heavyweight contender. Although Arreola isn't horrible, he isn't at the same level of the Klitschko's or top heavyweight from the 80s 90s. I'd rank him at the same level as a Calvin Brock, just average. Does nothing great just all around ok, and we all know that ok just doesn't cut it at the championship level. Add to the fact his lack of dedication out of the ring, it certainly doesn't help him, although I believe even if he'd diet and train properly he still doesn't have the tools to beat a Klitschko.

 

After seeing the constant pressure Arreola can maintain, even while getting pounded, pillar to post, I am now anxoius to see how he, fares against the rest of the division.

For the love of all things holy, Arreola HAS to fight Peter or Tua.

It'd be a crime if one, or both, fo those fights are not made in the next year or so.

I am now a fan of Arreola. He's certainly not going to take a title from either brother, and Haye would also thrash him with blinding speed.......Valuev would probably wear him out, as well.

But everyone else, I give Arreola a good chance at beating, through contant pressure, toughness, and a come forward style features big head hunting shots.

He's earned my respect. He is what he is, much like Peter. Limited, but entertaining, and very tough with a punchers chance against pretty much anyone. You can't help but like the guy after his performance and post fight interview.

 

Like I said before the fight, the only people thinking Arreola had a chance were trashy Mexicans desperate for even a B-level fighter to root for.

they feel he could've competed against a legitimate heavyweight because he's 6'4 250 lbs and he's mexican and that alone means he can take alot of punishment.

 

That could be a valid point: about tall and heavy athletes choosing other sports like football and basketball instead of becoming fighters. Some sports actually don't involve getting punched in the face.
