Is Floyd not 2x super welter champ, currently ranked #1 at 154? Where do you get divisions north? Nobody is asking him to go fight Froch.

    Floyd is a legit 147 lb fighter...no?

He only has fought twice at 154 special circumstances

Yet he is expected to campaign at 154....and also fight anyone at 160 who can make 154

    divisions

Ok if you feel his SWW belt is paper, so be it, he has no responsibility to defend it as a legit champ would.

Some Floyd fans are happy to bring up him beating #1 SWW, but feel he's not ready for #2, or 3. I trust you're more consistent.

Why isn't Floyd fighting Canelo next?

Is he getting more money from Guerrero fight?

I don't know why people are actually surprised. When was the last time Mayweather fought twice in a calendar year? Yet they expect him to sign a contract virtually before his actual training camp for his next bout has even begun? Do people not know Mayweather? Do they not know his ego?

Everyone is going around in circles with bull**** but it's very simple.

Mayweather is his own boss (that bull**** he likes to spout). If you try to take the play away from him, you will gain nothing. Look back to the Pacquiao negotiations, the only time Mayweather properly looked like making the bout was when he was dictating the terms, not Arum (random testing, booking the date and venue, calling Pacquiao, etc). Then we have Canelo who has no backing behind him or done very much to even talk his way in to a bout with Mayweather trying to dictate the terms. Not happening. Arum and Pacquiao couldn't do it, Canelo can't.

Mayweather has every right not to agree to a bout with Canelo in September, there are too many unknowns, and too many unknowns in boxing in general. What if Tout beats Canelo? What if Canelo looks shite? What if there is controversy in that bout? What if Mayweather struggles with Guerrero, etc?

All that aside, Canelo at this point has done nothing other than have a Mexican fan base behind him to put towards a bout with Mayweather.

I think this is exactly what most people here are saying. It's just that they are putting it in a way where it doesn't sound as bad lol. May is not sure he wants to be fighting at 154. If he considers you a threat (even if some fans don't), he isn't taking the fight. He maneuvers just like 50 said. He carefully weighs and does what's smart FOR HIM. We ash boxing fans are ****ED. I've been saying this since last year. I never believed that he would fight Canelo nor Trout. If he does, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong and I'll give May all the props for taking on a challenge like this (even though I believe he would probably win). Problem is that May thinks differently.

I agree that Guerrero can make it a good fight. But I'll be shocked if May were to lose to him.

I agree with this, he may yet fight Canelo, though the longer he waits the tougher it'll get. That whole talk of them fighting in September was just GBP trying to lock in the premium date 9 months in advance, and Floyd being a good sport about it. It's amazing how many posters bought into it, wishful thinking.

He will be remembered as an All-time great. But he will be also remembered as a cherry picker/ducker. It's sad because he has incredible talent. But he isn't the perfect fighter. He lacks the heart that others did in the past. He would never do what Duran did. He is an enigma to me. He has avoided fights that he LITERALLY would have won. Psychologically he has this fear...the fear to lose.

I love the way Floyd's fans change their tune.
Floyd Sr claims Mayweather is the best at 154.
Floyd himself claimed Cotto is the best at 154 at a time when Trout and Canelo were in there.

When you make the claims above then you're proving you have cherry picked and are in fact ducking fighters you see as threats.

It goes to show the pathetic building up Floyd had to do regarding Cotto was all bull***t and *****s buy into it

And they're still defending the guy... :patsch
The guy is a cherry picker and a joke, it's a shame his fans are so stupid they continue buying his fights

Yet you claim he's cherry picking to avoid a guy who doesn't have one single dominant win ever?

Guerrero's wins over Aydin and Berto would both be Alvarez's best career victory.

Way to shoot your own argument in the foot.....

Now you claim Floyd cares about resume? :rofl:rofl
This changes every time lol - I thought the man only cares about money, if so then Canelo brings it in. But conveniently now, it's Canelo's resume that's the problem. Yet if he beats Trout his resume goes through the roof

Floyd doesn't care about resume - if it's too good he ducks. It seems if you beat Berto you get a shot - either that or you have to a shot fighter with a good resume. Guerrero is 4th or 5th best fighter at 147 currently and he's just come up from 135...

Well done Floyd, your fans are falling for it again :patsch

We all knew he wouldn't sign a contract, even one with clauses such as "Has to beat Trout by UD", etc

Floyd will not fight Canelo Alvarez at all - ESPECIALLY if he beats Trout

I agree Guerrero is more deserving p4p, but those guys wouldnt be his best wins literally. For example, He routed Lopez who stopped Ortiz. Berto lost to Ortiz, and has no high caliber win. Aydin is worthless, any number of Canelo opponents would beat him, including Gomez.

Those are your words, not mine.

All I've said is that I would prefer Floyd/Canelo, but Guerrero IS one of the five best opponents for Floyd. You can't always get the fight you want, and not getting the couple you'd rather have doesn't make the fight horrible.
