Why would ODLH enlist a trainer who's 0-1-1 against Pac?

Erik Morales' father would have been a better choice. At least he has won once against the Pacman... Your thoughts?

I think Oscar's doing it just for name recognition. This way he heightens the drama and takes a little bite off the Pac/Marquez rivalry.

It really does not matter what trainer Oscar has, he's too old to really have his game modified much, the key thing is simply someone that makes sure he comes in shape. Nacho is a good "boxer" style trainer, has tons of experience facing Pac, and his fighters come in shape, so he's as good a choice as any for Oscar. And of course, by your logic, another way of looking at it is Marquez could have easily been given the decision in either of his fights against Pacquaio, while Morales and Barrera got dominated twice by Pac, so Nacho might be considered the best trainer based on that(not that said logic means anything).

Nacho's not doing DLH any good.. Nacho may know Pac well, but you can't teach an old dog new tricks.. They way people are talking about this fight, he shouldn't need a trainer..

From who? You think the casual, or mainstream fan knows or give a rat's ass about Nacho Berenstain? NO!

It's not for publicity, most of the people who will buy this fight know squat about trainers.

He's looking for support from every single Mexican fan. Once people see Nacho on his corner...... they will think of JMM.

I think he's going to wear the colours of the mexican flag in every single piece cloth he's going to wear that night, even his underwear. I can actually picture him wearing a (mexican) bandana. :yep

    Nacho's a great trainer.

I don't think it really matters if a great trainer like Nacho or a so-so one like Atlas or even a shitty one like that Katsidis trainer.

It's mainly a matter of size. DLH is just too big, and provided he makes 147 without greatly diminishing himself, he should beat Manny handily.

Trainers only matter so much. Sometimes Buddy McGirt catches **** for his fighters always loosing but in many cases they were the ones expected to loose and the other fighter was simply better.

JMM did very well against Pac as far as from a strategy perspective. Without the knockdowns he would have won both fights. He was winning the rounds and had a good strategy just happened to get caught and go down enough to loose the fights.

DLH doesnt need to work that hard for this fight. He looked crappy against Forbes but he looked better than expected against PBF. Pacs speed and power will be hurt from going up in weight, DLH has always had a good chin. Theres almost no chance of him getting stopped. As long as he keeps a good defense and throws enough punches he will win easy.

the casual mexican fan knows a shitload about boxing compared to your casual American fan, it is for publicity, it doesnt matter who Oscar has behind in his corner we already know the outcome of this fight, Oscar would ask JCC to be in his corner if JCC didnt hate Oscar so much.
