Why would Roach use Castillo?

Cuz sparring ain't fighting.

 

Castillo has a good technique and is very experiened. I think it is a great choice of sparring partner for Pac.

 

Wasn't it Koncz's idea? Freddie also didn't like the idea of Castillo for sparring.

 

A-B-C doesn't work in boxing man every knows that.

Just cause Castillo lost to Hatton, and Hatton lost to Pac, doesn't mean Castillo cannot spar with Pacquiao. Think about it.

 

i think it was koncz' idea. roach doesn't want castillo coz he was already shot but when castillo was flown in, they had no choice but to use him. imo, castillo would still give pac a good workout for a couple of rounds each day.

 

Because sparring is a controlled environment where the skills of csatillo would be nothing but a help for pac

 

castillo's body punching is very similar to cotto. so pac can get used to getting hit to the body with a strong left hook..

 

Castillo is a good addition to the sparring partners for MP. His experience will help rather than hurt Pac's training.

 

The experience Castillo brings to the ring is very difficult to find. It's not fighting and they are not going 12 rounds with each other. I could see Freddy not liking the idea. Because a guy like Castillo see thing other less experience fighters don't see. And if Pacquiao makes a mistake there is always the risk of getting hurt by Castillo. I have not doubts in mi mind Castillo is giving Pacquiao an excellent work out. Of course, in combination with the other sparring partners

 

Roach obviously seems to think that Castillo has the same kind of well-rounded skillset as Cotto. Plus he's experienced, professional, reliable and intelligent.

bc even though Castillo is battle worn, he have very good technique which cotto have too. Castillo also have a very powerful left hook that in prime have one punch ko power again much like cotto.
