I know winky has not fought since his ud loss to bhop in july 07. I know williams is 10 years younger and probaobly rated higher on most pound for pound lists. But i believe wright's superior defense and ring generalship will carry him to a ud. I like paul and think he is a talented young fighter, but wright is craftier and very patient, plus i do not think paul will be able to hurt winky. I was at the taylor fight and thought wright won. There is no same in losing to bhop at 170, far out of his weight class plus bhop is #3 p4p. Age will not matter wright win ud. Wright experience will propel him to victory.
I don't give winky any chance against williams. hes too old, too small, and not enough power. williams will stop winky inside of 10.
Paul Williams is going to walk through Wrights punches .... Winky is going to have to be willing to exchange in order to win a UD, and in doing so he is going to get hit. I wouldn't be surprised if Winky won, but I doubt it.
If Winky has anything left he will beat Williams. If Williams is unbeatable, he should fight Klitschkos for some real money. Sounds absurd, but Williams' fans think he can destroy anyone in the world no matter what the weight.
If the layoff hasnt had a big effect on Winky he should win by decision. Paul wont be able to hurt Winky and Winkys got the skills to beat Paul. One things for sure, this fight will most likely go the distance. None of them are getting stopped.
And if Williams wins it was because Winky was drained and shot... we all know this is how haters' minds work. Even if Williams does pull off the Win, he still won't get the deserved credit from many.
God forbid someone express an opinion that differs from yours. Grow up. Age and inactivity will most likely catchup with Winky, but the Winky that fought Taylor would make easy work of Williams.
Farmy is a terrible poster, he always has been..He spends too much time pre fight talking about fights that are set up, refs being paid for, fighters being old, so after the fight he can have a built in excuse.
i think there are points made by both sides of the debate here...in this way, i think, the middle-ground truth comes into clarity. there are still questions about williams weight hopping and his ability to react effectively to a truly seasoned and difficult, technically sharp veteran who has been in with the best in the business many times. if williams shows any green, i think he'll drop a decision to wright's clever, accurate counters and high workrate on the inside. if wright is old and stalls or has trouble getting going (or staying sharp for the distance), he may well get stopped. williams knows he has to work persistently and throw lots of punches at range. if wright is rursty, he is likely to get tangled up and beat down.
