Put another way "Here are the reasons why all of you are so wrong about Hatton"

    What's not to get, seriously?

Given some of the ridiculous spelling and sentence structure I have seen on the board so far, I don't think there's too much wrong with the thread title.

Well, I watched Hatton fight his last 5-6 fights which is the best thing to do b/c it dont really mean **** what he did 4-5 years ago. Hatton is the exact same night in night out. He was the god damned same the collazo fight as he always is. What his holding was not as tight. His leaping left hook did not have the usual bounce. He had a cold and he could not keep his gloves up late in the fight...Give me a god damned break. If you watch the damned tsyu fight. Hatton basically outworked the Exhausted Tsyu. Tsyu quit on his stool b/c of extreme fatigue. He could not even keep his gloves up past the 9th round. Hatton was just not as tired. Floyd does not get tired in the later rounds and actually comes out stronger as the fight goes on like many fighters. Every single thing Hatton does offensively in the ring Floyd has a counter punch for naturally. He does not have to do any special training or anything. His footwork and quick counter right hands and defense on the INSIDE will have Hatton clueless. Hatton will have to open up and punch more then he is used to to land anything effective. That will leave him more open and reckless. He will get stopped late in the fight.

Good excuses, I didn't even think of them. After Hatton gets dismantled be sure to come on this board and use them. Hatton is a tough fighter with alot of heart, I'm glad he decided to step up to the plate and take on a real challenge. Unfortunately, his heart and toughness won't help him in this fight. I'm glad Brits already have their excuses lined up, it'll make it alot easier on them when their boy gets humiliated.

Unfortunately I see PBF countering Hatton all night long. I don't see anything in Hatton that someone hasn't brought to PBF before. And as for workrate; I don't think pbf has anything to worry about since he never tires in the late rounds and arguably gets stronger. Do people honestly think PBF will tire before Hatton? I don't think so...an easy decision or stoppage for PBF.
PS - I hate the guy and wish someone would just knock him on his ass. I think Cotto is possibly the man to do that.

I dont understand why everybody hates Floyd. He is a man in his second childhood that he obviously missed out on from being bred to box at a young age. Anyway, I do think Floyd is scared but knows that if he fights Cotto, it will be his roughest fight.

From a pure boxing point of view; yes he is THE MAN. Hands down. But I just can't help but hate the guy otherwise. His annoying trash talking (yes I know its a part of the sport but his is just downright annoying and over the line) gets to me. Plus he is all about the money and not the sport. I just get the feeling that if he could screw his fans over for some money he wouldn't hesitate. I like to be able to relate to my favorite athletes. Take Laurence Maroney (running back for the patriots) for example. An amazing talent in a down to earth nice guy that doesn't think he is above everyone else on the planet. I had a class with him when he was at the U of M and he is just genuinely a nice guy. Pbf wouldn't bother to talk to fans in that scenario. See what im getting at?

they aint excuses bigreg, they are fact.

i've said there will be no excuses from ricky. if he loses this fight then i guarantee you, he wont make any bull**** excuse up as to why he lost. he will congratulate pbf and say he's a great fighter.

when pbf loses then you just watch out for the excuses that will flow from his filthy mouth, followed by his fans copying the same god dam lines.

all i say is - no excuses - if hatton wins i expect 'you lot' ;) to get down on one knee and hail the new pound for pound king.

I have two issues with this post. The first being the whole "having to put extra weight on 6 weeks out" thing and the other being his stamina.

    1. Hatton blows his little ass up to about a deuce between fights. Are you leading us to believe that 6 ****ing weeks out of his fight at 140lbs, he finds out he is now fighting at 147lbs and he has to ADD weight??? I'm sure he had some sort of plan to lose the weight on a schedule to get down to 140, yes. But this is 6 weeks out, he was probably well over 150lbs at this time. I have a real hard time believing that only having to cut to 147 rather than 140 on 6 weeks notice effected his performance.

    2. He has shown a tendancy to gas late in fights that don't necessarily go his way. The tszyu fight, he dictated what happened, he fought his way, the way he's accustomed to. Floyd won't let him do that. Floyd will pepper him with counters, make Hatton constantly change directions and constantly be on guard. Nerves can get the best of you, a great boxer can not only interrupt your rythm but your breathing as well. When you aren't able to dictate the action, and things happen when you don't want or before you realize your stamina is sapped alot faster. Look for Hatton to gas late, I don't care how good of shape he's in. :good

    Very Rational THOUGHT:good

I've said all a long that this will be Floyd's biggest TEST and wont be EASY:nono Ricky Hatton is/WAS the real 140 Champion(Floyd WASNT).

As for the Collazo comparison? I've said STYLES were a big factor in that fight and doesnt make credible theory on how this fight will go. Team Hatton had previously said they had short time and weren't in "optimal" condition. There can be NO EXCUSE in this fight.

Lamotta vs SRR, Duran vs Leonard, and Hatton vs Floyd???

I sure the hell hope so:yep

Money "Supalips" Mayweather will be bringing his own A GAME to the "dance" which should be much more inspirational now that he's been kicked off "Dancing With The Stars":hey :dance

Floyd himself has talked and inside battle:lol: I sure hope he follows through wit that:rofl From "Dancing With The Stars" to "Seeing Stars" is fine by me:bokc

I believe that after a couple rounds, PBF will be physically forced to wise up and REVERT BACK to his defensive movement, slips, and angles.
Can Ricky get inside then, is the question?:think

    I hope to sing a CHOROUS of "THERE'S ONLY 1 RICKY HATTON":cheers

    :beer

good points very well made pal

1 - the weight issue, the extra half a stone put on from hatton was the wrong type of weight eg fat / not muscle - maybe the incentive to train to his maximum was lost because he was then so comfortable to make the weight.

2 - where we differ on this is that i believe that hatton will dictate the pace of the fight and will take pbf out of his rhytm, and make him fight non stop for 3 mins of every round, taking floyd out of his comfort zone, forcing the pace, not letting pbf having any rest time in the fight.

it's worth noting that hatton averages 30 more punches per round than pbf.
