After watching Dela / Pac 24/7 and the recent matches I really miss .................................................... Mayweather. And I freakin Hate him. But Boxing really needs him back. I hate watching good guy vs good guy. Its completely boring with the runs in the sunset wth Celion Dion playing in the back round. I need some Fifty in the backround with some real training and controversy going on. Or is it just me ????
You probably need villains or people who play villains like Mayweather, Darchinyan, or Hamed to get hyped up for a fight. Its really easy to love those guys for their cockiness or absolutely hate them and see a fight just to get to see them knocked out.
I agree. I can't stand Mayweather and would love to see him get stretched out. Don't wanna see him get lasting damage or anything like that, but I would love to see him get hammered good and do that little move like in the final fight on Ready to Rumble where that demon dude keeps getting up, falling down, getting up, staggering around, falling down, getting up and then falling down. lol Very similar to (I believe) Berbick getting knocked out by Tyson. I just can't stand arrogant disrespectful people. I lost a lot of respect for Ali after seeing that new Documentary of him going at Frazier like he did, especially after all Joe had done for him.
Its all fake. The whole in yuor face i wanna beat you up attitude is fake. Mayweather is a boxer like the others, he doesn't wanna hurt his opponent any more than Pacquiao does. Its just an act.
To all those who want PBF back you must know that if he does make a return he's not going to fight any real challenger. He'd just comeback for PBF-Hatton II or something. The big pay-days he knows he can win and that'll keep the armchair fans thinking he's still the best in the world. You'll never see him coming back just to get ktfo, or have his head taken off by Margarito or someone.
I don't think Boxing needs Mayweather, not unless he is going to solidify some greatness at 147 or above. If he plans to come back and beat on over matched opponents like Hatton, Baldomir, and Gatti..he should stay retired. I think Boxing is in a good state. Pacquiao vs Hoya is intriguing, Margarito is Mosley is garunteed excitement, as is Arce vs Darchinyan. Can't wait for 2009.
