Record pay means jack in this context not getting sucked into a troll argument. All that matters is the split. Percentage of the total pot. like i said to others. You have a house worth 500k do you sell it for 250K because its a “record high payday” for you?? Hell no. Besides, I admire your passion here about “record high paydays” its a damn shame we missed you during Whytes “record high payday” to Wilder of 9 million dollars where wilder was only making 2 million a fight. Curious... did you fight Whytes corner then??? Or do you make it a habit to fight against Whyte? For no reason except bias? Whyte is for sure more worthy than 20% percentage. WBC are known to be corrupt its been documented. So their 80/20 ruling is dishonest. Again. Add the word NEGOTIATION to your dictionary. When one person doesnt agree to a deal it doesnt mean he “ducked the deal” negotiation is a tactic used to find more favourable terms for parties involved. fury is a known duck. Wilder a known duck. Whyte is a warrior. See his CV for references.
They tried to negotiate. They offered 25% but Hearn got huffy and demanded 45%. Forty five. For a washed up nobody who got brutally KO'd 2 fights ago. Imagine if Pulev demanded 45% off of Joshua and then some bulgarian guy started claiming Joshua was ducking him for not accepting.
Wasn't it widely reported that Whyte earnt around $5.5m for Whyte v Povetkin 1. How much was Arum offering for Whyte v Fury?
Apples to Oranges, this is WBC not the IBF. Whyte is Interim Champion. So lets imagine, a WBC contender rises through the WBC ranking system to Rank #1 by winning WBC sanctioned bouts. And then he stays there for three years as the top contender. Then he wins another fight to be crowned WBC Interim Champion.... and ALL of this has no bearing on what split you get in a title shot?? So whats the point of ranking system? Whats the point of Interim Champ Status? Makes no sense at all. Last time I checked, in every sport ever created... climbing the ranks means something, you get benefits, you get prizes... advantages. WBC regulations state a challenger can recieve up to 45%. So then out of all the challengers... how is Whyte not worthy of that figure or even slightly less? I just described all whytes WBC achievements and accolades... what else does a WBC fighter have to do???????? Because fury was not ranked AT ALL. When he fought Wilder. He got plucked out of no where.... had no WBC sanctioned bouts. Just to show you the level of corruption, and the real ducking from Fury. Whyte vs Fury sells more than Ruiz or Helenius fights in the UK. Got figures to back it up. More WBC Corruption: Regulations state a champ must face a mandatory and defend belt once a year in mandatory sanctioned bouts. Wilder only did one in three years. Ortiz got two shots at Wilder. He shouldnt have got the first shot without fighting an eliminator whether against Whyte or anyone else. Whyte was always ranked ahead of Ortiz in the rankings, so who takes priority on stating where an elimination bout takes place? WBC favoured Ortiz, when Whyte said come to UK as a headline event. Stiverne got a shot out of no where too, twice. So crazy amounts of corruption.
The point of the ranking system is to manoeuvre fighters into contention for a world title bout, not boost their purse percentage. Whyte has talked for years about being overlooked for a world title shot - justifiably to some degree - and when finally he gets one, the goalposts are moved to purse splits. Does he want a shot at a title or not? Beat Fury and his earnings go through the roof. Looking like he's trying to get those earnings secured prior to the bout and not after winning it in a rematch or first defence, tells me he's not that confident of getting the 'W'. Or has he just got so used to being the victim, he can't shift that mentality? Getting into constant disputes with the sanctioning body doesn't help him either - you gotta butter those parsnips. Whyte hasn't played a smart game these past few years. He turned down a shot at Joshua over money and now this with Fury. Just take the fight...
Well he was still getting overlooked by Wilder when he was in the #1 spot. So I can't really buy the "to manoeuvre fighters into contention for a world title bout". When Ortiz vs Whyte elimination was called, they negotiated. Whyte said come to england, Ortiz said come to USA. So who should get priority here? Because WBC sided with Ortiz. So Whyte realised okay being number 1 gets you no where, as being in the front of the line doesnt mean you get called up first for a title shot. So he tried offering money, 9 million dollars to entice wilder for a fight... but again fell on deaf ears. So then he became WBC Interim Champion, okay great... so what does that actually mean? What is the purpose of being elevated to interim? Its all confusing. On top of that, okay Ortiz got a shot. Why did he have to get two shots? Why couldnt Whyte be the second shot? I mean Whyte was still #1. So he is actually a victim with the WBC. He wanted a WBC belt to return back to Joshua with more bargaining power for negotiating more favourable split.
Isn't it odd for one manfan to shout so much for one guy when nobody else is. Most people see how poor whyte is, yet this guy continually tries to convince us otherwise.. I guess one fanboy as cringe as aydamn is the equivalent to having many fans.. Proper odd, never seen anything like it. odd as ****.
Maybe Ortiz simply accepted a lesser purse? Who knows? But the facts are if Whyte had put belts before his bank balance I think he'd have had one title fight already vs Joshua and one in the pipeline vs Fury. I get it, boxing is his job - the way he earns money - and it's a relatively short career. So wanting to maximise income is understandable. But thinking like that comes at a cost - and that cost seems to have been other fighters usurping his position at the front of the queue. Anyway, I hope they get the fight made and Fury vs Whyte happens. But I don't think Dillian will be writing the forward for the 2022 edition of 'How to Win Friends and Influence People'. His autobiography should be entitled: 'Belts, Bank Balances and Burning Bridges'...
Yeah except even I am not rich enough to buy 2.7 Million PPVs, and 100K ticket to go see Whyte fight. I could afford the 4000 tickets Fury sold against Schwarz though, thats a pathetically small enough number of ticket sales to shift....for me to gobble up. Find it odd that your broadband isn't picking these numbers up on the internet, hmm maybe have an engineer sent over to your shed.
Well its not secret boxing industry is a very shady business driven solely by greed. I and everyone else really wish there was more governance, and less chance for crap like this to happen. Have a simple ladder that everyone can climb fairly. Have the monetary business side concluded in a fair and impartial manner. I think 80/20 is a low ball, any challenger would get that. And its sending out the wrong message to contenders, that no matter how hard you grind climbing the ranks, or earning an interim belt... a nobody will come and get a shot before you.
^^^^^^ PMSL.^^^^^^^ He had a good run though. As Bruce Forsyth would have said. " Didn't he do welllll "
Whyte should just accept the fee and take the fight. Tyson Fury looks like he's 300+ pounds at the moment. Not in the best of condition. This content is protected
