Whilst Whyte is doing this and people are sticking up for him, Lomachenko is telling his team to get the Kamabosos fight at any cost.

There’s no evidence yet that Whyte isn’t going to take the fight.

    I'm curious too.

Everybody acts like he's been a star for years when he hasn't.

I think he's likely a huge draw now. His whole family's profile has skyrocketed over the last couple of years.

Now it has, but it took him THREE dramatic fights with the SAME PERSON in ANOTHER COUNTRY for him to become big. Nobody gave a toss about him here.

I agree, just don't think comparisons with his previous UK fights are meaningful. He's got tremendous traction in the UK now.

Last fight in England was 15000 in the Manchester Arena for Sefer Seferi which is pretty decent. The tagline for the event was simply "He's Back".

Since then he's been on a Carl Frampton undercard in Belfast, and in Las Vegas ever since.

So I think the answer to your question is a simple "yes".

A combination of not being that exciting (pre-Wilder), not being very PC in his younger years, his background, not looking very athletic and lack of Sky Sports promotion led to that. He’s turned it around now.

Agree plus the British public like backing a winner and they see won now in Fury, especially with AJ now not seeming to be that winner.

Gave him national media and won the hearts of the nation with the mental health selling points. Genius.
