I have a feeling Dillian is going to claim a training camp injury and pull out of this fight and then go back to whining about not getting an opportunity when it passes him by.
I reckon he would now. Paris's book is a top 5 bestseller, he's had two prime time documentaries made about him. He sells fights really well and everyone now knows who he is. Bigger draw than AJ now in my opinion. The Whyte fight will show us I guess.
Calm down. AJ has done the biggest numbers in terms of attendance numbers ever in our time. And on a consistent basis. Tyson isn't there yet despite what you say.
If Fury (pre mental health awareness / Wilder fights / ITV documentaries) did 15k against Seferi he definitely sells out a stadium.
I think the issue is that once again you’re letting your general dislike of Fury cloud your opinion. I wasn’t sure at first, but I reckon Fury vs Whyte would sell Wembley. He hasn’t had the Sky Sports machine behind him remember so his PR resurgence is even more impressive.
Let's not forget that Eddie Hearn and the Sky hype machine lied to us for the best part of a decade that Joshua was the best fighter since Lewis and Tyson combined. So that's what sold tickets and pay per view buys. Fury is the better boxer, and that's all that matters unless you're on Joshua's payroll. Who cares who has been promoted more to do more sales? The obsession with other people's wage packets who don't know you exist is really bizarre. It's rife on here and many people have bought into the hype machine when they just need to have a word with themselves. Do people do their weekly shop on which supermarket does the most sales? Who actually cares?
Unfortunately people do care. Finances, ppv, ticket sales etc all count towards the image of the fighter and quite often seen as an excuse for fights being made or not being made. How often do you hear the phrase “nobody knows who he is” as an excuse for not taking a fight. A side B side and all that rubbish is all used as influence and leverage to gain an advantage. PPV and ticket sales etc are an incredibly important part of that.
100% agree mate, this bizarre obsession with the behind the scenes stuff in the sport is madness. Granted, boxing is a sport knee deep in skullduggery and there has been some fascinating reads and watches over the years of stuff all to do with the inner workings, but this absurd bickering over pay checks like you are breaking down punches and gameplans, which is what really matters to a boxing fan, is at best hilarious and at worst cringey I think it comes from this place of wanting to appear clued up on absolutely everything to do with boxing which is fine i suppose if thats your bag,but to get all heated with it online as has happened many a time over the years is madness
