Will the WBC give Fury a mandatory? Usyk Dubious AJ Whyte Wilder Ruiz Just Fury left Warren would be crazy to make Fury Joyce But it would be a hell of a fight and the Saudis would buy the rematch unless Fury boxes his face off but I think that fight gets harder for Fury with time.
I'd sooner see Anthony Joshua fight someone he's not fought before, like Wallin, Hrgovic, Wilder, Gassiev, Makhmudov or even Chisora. Knocking out the chinny mediocre Whyte again won't impress anyone.
Of course. After Whyte-Franklin either fight Whyte OR Franklin, then on to somebody else. Re AJ I'd like to see him vs. Fury, Wilder, Ruiz 3, and yes Miller (the trash talk might be better than the fight). Of these four possible AJ opponents how many do you think will actually be made? 2? Most of these name HWs are early to late 30s, and w/ most of them fighting once, tops twice per year time isn't on their side
I would love to see AJ fight Wilder, Fury or Joyce but think he needs to rebuild his confidence and gain some hype. A KO win over Whyte would be a good start, he probably needs one more decent win after Whyte too but time is ticking.
A year to rebuild with B-tier wins. A step up fight. Then a title shot. Time is ticking, but being fed to the top 3 is in no wasteful.
Boring, but if AJ does the fight in the next 2 months and by the end of the year goes against Joyce, Fury or some prospect, that's fine, it's some activity, one that the division seriously lacks.
AJ said just the other week that whilst he wants to fight Whyte he acknowledges the fans dont want it and therefore his energy was elsewhere. Whilst im not against him having a few "confidence builders", he isnt a champion and it makes sense to step back a bit, but you cant have these fights on PPV. Thats where I draw the line.
Joshua vs Whyte in a stadium won't sell out. You will 100% see LARGE gaps in the crowd. Eddie will feel very small that night. Certain people will have smiles on their faces.
