well, option 3 for me - Fury genuinely views Whyte as a danger and a solid fighter. And his words/demeanour were genuine when he described Whyte as a fighter he respects. They have history, a lot has changed since then. But I know Fury respects whyte 400% more than die hard Fury fans on here because his voice, his tone, facial expression and body langauge in all this build up with Whyte is so very different to what Ive seen from Fury in the past. He even blinks differently when discussing Whyte. He respects the guy as a dangerous fighter.
Possible. Won't go down particularly well on here though as he didn't show that respect to Wilder... And you know how few rate Whyte over Wilder on here (even though resumes are miles apart), they just won't want to admit it. My suspicion is it's a combination of all three on some level, he likes and respects Whyte and would've wanted to be in slightly better shape for this given the perceived threat... We'll see, perhaps he'll come out more focused than ever and put on a masterclass, or perhaps it'll be a close run thing.
Fury looks in very good shape to me, he had an uninterruped camp this time. It's likely that he just respects Whyte as a fighter, they did live with each other for a while.
I'm not saying he looks awful or even bad at all - but if he feels like he could/should be in better shape, that might influence his outlook on the fight.
Thats all if buts and maybes. If Whyte feels overawed by the occasion when he gets to the arena on Saturday, that also might influence his outlook on the fight.
Who said Whyte quits? One guy on this forum? I'd expect most, and even even most of those who have previously found Whyte intolerable (in contrast to the much more agreeable, teddy bear-like version we've seen this week), to acknowledge that he's a guy who fights to the end. (With that said, Fury has made at least one other seemingly indomitable guy consent to staying on his stool. Whyte and/or his corner waving a white flag wouldn't utterly blow my mind, but it's not an outcome I expect.) It's interesting that you're setting a certain bar for a Fury win here. Sounds like Dillian winning a couple rounds en route to defeat would be a huge moral victory in your camp.
we’ll see, for now, on my side at least I view both coming in best shape mentally and physically. Both appear to have the right gameplans. May the best man win. I accept it can to either way, but of course back Whyte to win. My long standing issue is the notion peddled by the forum that Fury is head and shoulders above Whyte. I strongly disagree.
Absolutely. We're talking hypotheticals here of course, plausible but not necessarily possible to back up.
The forum as a majority pegged Fury head and shoulders above Whyte for years now. And Whyte is a stepping stone, tickover fight for Fury. My moral victory is when its shown on fight night that Whyte isn’t as terrible as people thought. Isn’t levels below. He is on par with Fury. And I back him to win the fight, accept he can lose. He is more than a left hook, one trick Pony. That discredits what he brings to the table and the boxing development he has undergone since the Joshua loss. At one point, AJ was also touted as head and shoulders above Whyte on this forum and then the tine changed. So it’s a common theme to rag on Whyte. But we’ll see on fight night these majority proven wrong in that regard when when Whyte proves to be a legitimate opponent who has far more than a punchers chance.
Whyte is totally screwed. Doesn't come forward well Can't sit at range against Fury which is what Whyte likes to do Isn't going on the backfoot How can he win? He can't.
Fury kept it respectful as he has probably been told, do not go upsetting him as he looks like he is about to cry anyway, we don't want to scare him off turning up for the fight!! Dillian bless him, he had that look in his eyes that just scream out i am in trouble here...
It was funny to see Whyte who normally likes to dog people in a face off not even bother because Fury is so much bigger
