Fury doesn't have a belt either. And Whyte is offered 80/20 deal... ...let alone 50/50/ 60/40 And Whyte is top 4, and seing as tyson and fury ain't even available who is the next best after Whyte? And what money will they bring? Zilch, and also no belts.
You keep ignoring the fact Whyte would be a voluntary defence, it's an offer to a man who has been screaming for a world title shot for the past year or more.. also it would be a career high payday for Whyte. What we know is Whyte wants around £7 million and he has been offered around £5 million. It's not an outrageous lowball offer, it's a great offer considering the position Whyte is in, Whyte could end up being frozen out for 18 months or so. If AJ fight Miller or anybody else, after that (assuming AJ wins) his next fight is going to be at the end of the year, Hearn is in contact with Fury, they are talking regularly. If Hearn/AJ strike a deal with the winner of Fury/Wilder that will happen at the end of the and they would get an extension for a unification fight. So Whyte wouldn't be fighting AJ or for the WBC belt. Then you have to consider a rematch, regardless of any result for AJ against Wilder or Fury there will be a rematch and that would take place around May 2020.. then assuming Whyte has been active and has kept winning he might get his shot late 2020 and for a mandatory split. Hearn said today he is looking at fights likes of Ortiz, Usyk and Pulev for Whyte if he doesn't fight Joshua.. are you confident Whyte comes through a couple of them? If he loses what happens then? He gets shuffled way back. Whyte is gambling for a mandatory split world title shot, probably a lot less money than he is being offered to fight now and it possible it won't happen until late 2020. Whyte is in an awful position in my opinion if he refuses or declines the offer.
Don't know how legitimate this source is, but 5 million is more than enough. Perhaps in future Hearn should try adding ''win bonuses'' in the contracts meaning that whoever beats AJ (out of the lesser opponents such as (Jarell Miller, Whyte or Pulev) gets a 2-3 million win bonus. Might make it easier to negotiate fights.
You keep ignoring the revenue, and ramble on about career high... when it is still selling himself short based on how much the whole thing generates. 5 mill barely amounts to 20 percent. It is measly, Whyte ain't a nobody in the UK boxing scene, he is a bankable star... with the best 2018 out of any heavyweight. The best KO's as of late, KO's that will go down in history. You keep overlooking these facts... and it is disgusting. I am not going to repeat myself on this point again, you either accept it or don't. Whyte is not in an anymore awful position then AJ is who is struggling to get meaningful fights. Whyte definitely can beat Ortiz, Pulev and Usyk I have no doubt whatsoever. And I won't argue this point, because it is not worth my time. Pulev and Ortiz are ancient history, and have done jack **** as of late to make them competitive against Whyte. You keep sucking of their previous experience int he ring when it amounts to nothing. No notable wins, nada. Usyk has done jack at Heavyweight, let him get past a top 20 first let alone a top 4 before opening your mouth like a fanboy with an erection. If AJ fights Miller, it will do jack for US exposure, jack for his earnings and jack for his popularity which will go down. You say Fury is in talks with Hearn... more like Hearn is badgering Fury. Fury is firmly with Warren, and Warren hasn't got wind of any talks so that is just being snaky and dishonest on Hearns part... further breaking down his image and credibility. Don't act like Wilder and Fury are round the corner fights for AJ.... that is bull****, don't lie to your self or this forum, have some integrity. Whyte is ready now, should AJ want a big payday, a true test, and a true boost for his popularity when Fury and Wilder are tied up indefinitely as it seems. I care about evidence, stats, figures, actions. Ortiz, Miller, Usyk and Pulev ain't got much of those in the heavy weight division, so stop bringing it up, it's boring me to death.
Given that Joshua badly needs an opponent Whyte has the leverage to demand it, since Joshua is running out of time.
I think Uysk and Whyte should fight and the winner should fight AJ, then they could certainly demand £7 million and deserve it.
I completely disagree, he should fight Miller, Povetkin then Parker rematch AND then Usyk and then do 5000 push up challenge and then face AJ for 5.25 Million
I agree about Miller not bringing in massive numbers and I would say the bigger, better fight is Whyte. The fight won't add to Joshua's legacy. It's Whyte that needs Joshua not the other way around.
Great post/counter argument, I completely agree that the mandatory position will be pushed back for fury or wilder. I think I may of got my original point mistaken, I mainly wanted to get across is I completely get where Whyte is coming from he has been undervalued by everyone, over looked and avoided, he’s realising his own value and marketability. I think your points are bang on about who does he fight “usyk? Ortiz? Parker 2?” Very dangerous risky fights but there’s only them and povetkin (Breazeale apparently) who would be very risky fights and he is certainly not making the decisions that make the most sense, but he is frustrated and he believes in himself more power to him for it, if he does get to the top/challenge for a title, he will of done it on his own terms. That’s a rare thing in boxing. Also very interesting that you say he’s on a fight by fight deal with Eddie I didn’t know that.
Yes it’s crazy that fury wilder was ordered as a 60/40 with only one belt on the line, yet fury wants 50/50 for the chance at 3 belts.
Contracts and money are a hindrance to big fights being made, and always will be. When you step into world elite level in any sport you become a brand/product with a value, when you factor in egos it’s hardly surprising that your opinion of your own worth might be more than market value. So with this taken into account the ego, the belief in being victorious, why don’t fighters just say right 70/30 to the winner? Or winner takes all?
