Looks to be brewing a bit, going by the Sky website. Thoughts? Tarver is 47 now by the way, though got a draw with Steve Cunningham last time out.
Good fight for Whyte. Even at Tarver's advanced age he is still the second best opponent Whyte has faced. Whyte has youth on his side, but Tarver's skill and craftiness will pose Whyte problems as he can be crude at times. This fight won't tell us all about Whyte, but we will learn more about him than we have done from all of his non-AJ opponents that he has faced.
I don't think Tarver poses huge risk of scoring a ko but he could outpoint Whyte. That would be my prediction, especially looking at Whyte last time out. Maybe just ring rust but not too convincing.
Fight of the drug cheats! Whos sample will come back glowing green? Tune in to Sky Sports Pee and find out!
Whyte was banned for drinking an over the counter drink Jack3d that contained a stimulant that's allowed for training but shouldn't be in your system on fight night he got a ridiculous ban. UKAD fully accepted Whyte didn't deliberately take a banned in competition stimulant but he should of carried out more checks. Enzo Macrinelli and Tony Dodson were also banned for unknowingly taking the same mild stimulant. Tarver been banned twice and for anabolic steroids.
If that fight happens i see tarver outboxing whyte or even ko him who knows what joshua ko did to him...
Odd that the board would sanction this and not allow the Allen fight to happen. So long as Whyte is busy before the Autumn I don't really mind who he fights in the short term.
Would be a better fight for Whyte already think he will struggle when someone has foot work or movement
