What do we make of this? It's one of the biggest fights in UK history yet Dillian is trying to sabotage it by doing zero promotion. I think it's obvious that Hearn is behind this because Dillian has always been happy to promote fights. It could've been a great build up for the fans but Hearn has showed his bitterness once again. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Eddie Hearn is the most bitter promoter of them all. He lost the purse bid so he's told his fighter to do zero promotion for the biggest fight of his life. It's absolutely pathetic. I know the undercard is rubbish and Warren is to blame for that. However, Hearn instructing the fighter in the main event to do zero promotion is unprecedented bitterness and I hope we don't see such carry on again. The build up to big fights, especially big domestic fights, is something we look forward to and look back on with fondness. As said, Hearn and Whyte's carry on is just pathetic.
It's Frank's job to promote the fight. He's reaping what he's sowed. If he needs Whyte's help he shouldn't have had his trousers taken down on the purse split.
Warren is the promoter, if he wants a fighter to do more than he is obligated to do then he should incentivise them, not just slag them off in interviews.
Did it categorically say he had to take part in the promotion in his contract? If it didn't then as much as it's petty and it's pretty much a given that you should take part in the promotion he's got a loophole. On the other hand Warren was straight on Youtube laughing and joking after Povetkin beat Whyte so that hasn't helped. The only concern is it creates a dangerous precedent going forward and you get loads of other fighters not turning up to do the media stuff.
Whyte is there for the bag and the bag only. He will turn up on the 29th, dive, and that will be the last we see of him
Dillian is a grown man, who manages fighters himself- (some of whom must he quietly wondering why he wasn’t trying to get them on the card) anyway, this is all on Dillian - not Eddie. I think if anybody had an off the record chat with Eddie, even he would acknowledge that Whyte’s behaviour is totally unprofessional and bad for the business in general. Whyte is clearly pig ignorant, and forgetting Warren, he has shown a complete disregard to the media and his own supporters by not even commenting on the fight.
Whyte is going to look very silly after all his silence if fury blasts him out in a couple of rounds. The other thing is people won’t want to work with whyte in future if he won’t turn up to do all the pressers and sell the fight
Hearn is Whytes promoter Whyte is boxing on BT and not DAZN Nothing to do with Hearn Pretty simple really
It’s hilarious that some are looking to blame Hearn because Warren is sabotaging his own event. The only question you need to ask is, what efforts have been made by the promoter of the event to get the fighter to do more than he has to?
Whyte was screwed over on the split by the WBC by their own rules that they changed and stated a BS reason. Whyte made reasonable demands of getting tickets that is not unusual which was not met. Understandable that Whyte doesn't want to do promotional work that he is not contractually obligated to and concentrate on training for the fight.
Disagree about not doing a couple interviews or cringey promotional videos craps on his fans. As long as he shows up to fight I don't care.
You dont but how about all those casual fans Hearn lured in making them believe in Whyte? And in turn making him a millionaire Guys taking a dump on them He has never cared and just wants a retirement fund
