I'm glad that the fight ended with a knockout because now there is no controversy. But Ive heard different people say different things about the fight like Chisora only won one or two rounds The 2 points taken off were unfair/harsh Chisora was up by one with the two points off So just out of curiosity whats everyones opinion on the scoring of the rounds, the points taken off .
Deserved one point taken off and I had him winning most of the rounds and probably agreed with the judges. Whyte didn’t seem to do much, boxed a strange fight. Some of my mates thought it was Whyte’s plan all along to do what happened, but who knows.
I was surprised that Chisora was up despite the point deductions. I was rooting for Chisora but had him 3 rounds down with the deductions. Whyte was clearly tiring in those later rounds which is why he was stopped. I thought the ref was a little harsh with the point deduction for the low blow. Sure he'd been warned for use of the head but he hadn't been warned for any low blows and sometimes you just land low, Whyte landed low earlier in the fight and the ref didn't do a thing. Plus Whyte was using his elbow a lot but again no warnings. It just seemed the ref took a dislike to Chisora's style and penalized him for it. Chisora wasn't head butting him or fighting a particularly dirty fight.
I didn't keep a card when watching it live but like the first I thought it was a very even fight, maybe with Whyte edging it at the time of the stoppage as I thought Chisora was tiring a little from the 8th onward. A brief summation of the fight from my recollection would be Whyte sweeping the first two quite cleanly, Chisora out-hustling him for the majority of rounds 3-7, and then Dillian out-boxing him for most of 8-11. I had no qualms with the judges having it a one point fight either way. You have to bear in mind that even though Delboy was penalised twice, only one of the deductions was actually accounted for because the second deduction (for the elbow) came in the same round that the KO did.
I had it more or less even through 10 rounds - but with Chisora down 2 points due to the deductions. I sensed Chisora was fading a little by the 10th round - had the KO not come I reckon Whyte would have taken it by 4 points on my card by the end.
I had it 4-2 Chisora at round 6. Not sure whether Whyte was trying to recoup some energy or his game plan was to let Chisora tire himself out. Whyte was landing better clean shots from 7-11. Chisora was busy but just not as effective in the 2nd half. Full credit to Chisora but I had Whyte up at the KO.
