It tells a story when Vegas didnt put the money up for the fight. We will still hear about a near sell out as I would imagine that a lot of celebs will get comped tickets. The fight would have sold out a decent arena in the UK and been a much bigger event, trouble is they need to make Wilder a star in US to make him a PPV attraction. I think unless the Fury fight is a barnburner its not going to work in the US and Wilder vs Joshua will happen next September in UK.

No it didn't. Can we stop worth this Mis-Matchroom ticket sales BS. We all know Mis-Matchroom have just given those tickets to stub hub. Fans do not have those tickets FFS.

I'm sure Whyte-Chisora will do well, but the lies from Mis-Matchroom are completely unnecessary and anyone on here propagating them is foolish.

Frank Warren is constantly going on about matchroom lying about ticket sales to market themselves and their fighters. This is the problem of having no real boxing journalists just a bunch of twats like Gareth Davies who are more interested in being chummy with everyone than doing their job. It’s either that or gormless youtubers. If you’ve seen the BT sport Tesco basics doc with iFl guy doing voiceover and presenting with Tris Dixon, is there two less charasmtic people in the world? Dull dull dull like the fight will be with Tyson spoiling. At least Whyte Chisora will have action.

It's the way boxing is mutating over the years. This will be a competitive good action fight. Why wouldn't people want to watch this?

Boxing in the UK is casual driven, Hearn has done that and now the fights are marketed to attract the average working class man. And it's working.

Willie I just took a quick look at the BBC sports homepage and would encourage you to do the same:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport

There's no boxing content showing whatsoever. It doesn't merit a mention on the menu, there's no account of last night's excellent showing by Josh Taylor or Ryan Burnett's unfortunate loss. Nothing about Fury, Wilder, Whyte, Chisora or even AJ. There's an NFL entry and UFC, but no boxing. Of course there is content there if you know where to look: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/46086800 but it's not deemed worthy of even a small place on the front page as I type this.

TLDR: There's a lot of competition for boxing in the UK too. It's just doing a better job here at present than its counterpart in the US.

The Brits like indoor drinking sports like boxing and darts

Sports they can go out, get pissed and watch pissed

Americans prefer family sport experiences like baseball and basketball

That would be a success in my opinion.

Add in a 150-200K from the UK and that's good.

$70 is more than £20 so worth factoring in that too

I wouldn’t read too much into it. As far as I am aware Eddie Hearn sells tickets in bulk to touts. There might be 13,000 sold but that doesn’t mean 13,000 people have bought them yet.

It's not really true is it, Stubhub buys up like half of them and sell them on for more money gradually leading up to the fight.

This stub hub buy them nonsense. Never see empty seats bat 'sold out' fights and I doubt thousands are buying at tout prices!!

I hear Americans always say there is less to do in the UK. Hilarious nonsense. We have all your shitty sports ( apart from baseball) on too of our own. Its just they are crap so they don't do huge numbers or have limited seasons.

Football is king. Over 100 professional clubs playing each weekend from 75k down to low thousands.

    Then there is rugby

    And in the summer cricket

And horse racing, motorsports, darts etc can get huge crowds.

But apparently there is so much more to do in America to excuse poor ticket sales

If I can buy hundreds of $50 tickets the night before the fight, it aint sold out son.

Right now the cheapest Wilder-Fury tickets are $140. The cheapest Whyte-Chisora are £60, and there are **** loads of them on the go, with no doubt thousands more to be released if we know Mis-Matchroom. Says it all really. I'm not impressed that Clarks sell more shoes than Louis Vuitton, but whatever floats your boat I guess.

You call it Mis-Matchroom but the irony is that Chisora Whyte is a more even match up than Wilder Fury
