Looking at the Barb website they have for for Week 22-29 July sky box office ppv events as 474k. Now this won't be 100% accurate but I think we can safely say it did at least 400k. Great numbers!!! Dillian Whyte becoming a PPV star. There was no wwe ppv that week so the 474k listed is just for the boxing.
I was just coming here to post this. Eddie and Dillian must be over the moon!!!! The decision to fight Parker has really paid off for both of them. 28 July 2018 Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker This content is protected 474,000 [190][191]
This was supposed to bomb remember. The undercard and the fact there was no World title on the line for Whyte v Parker meant it wasnt a PPV fight and it would fail on PPV. This forum wrong again. AJ v Whyte 2 could be made for next year and would do huge numbers on PPV. Whyte has been built very nicely and him taking the gamble to fight Parker has paid off big time.
I think Hearn could get Buffer announcing that he's taking a shite somewhere at Wembley and it'd still get 300K views.
Look mate, those who come on here and give their opinions on boxing do so because we love the sport and because we invest a decent amount of time into following and talking about boxing, it means that in general we have a better understanding of what s going on compared to the group of punters we usually term 'casuals Now most of us on here agreed that we didn't think that this should be a Ppv card and in reality the only thing that made it Ppv worthy was Eddies spin. Just because it was a good night of boxing after the fact doesn't change the initial point, that this should never been ppv to those who didn't believe that the fights/fighters on that night don't justify ppv moneey Now the numbers that have been released shows that for Eddie and Sky, the evening was a success but that doesn't mean that us who feel the evening should never of been ppv in the first place were wrong. I didn't buy it, like I havnt bought a few of the ppv in recent years. If I think it's worth paying for then I'll pay, if I don't think it's worth it, I won't pay and I didn't. I do agree with your point that Eddie is doing a good job with Dillian tho but on his own he is defiantly, imo of course , not ppv. Now with regards to us on the forum saying the night would bomb, I don't remember saying that myself but I understand that some posters may of believed that, that would happen. The fact that it didn't , shows us how good Eddie is at his job.
still wasn't a PPV. awful card, and it turned out badly. it had 1 good fight on it and people making out like it was the best card in years.
OP literally just posts about numbers, Matchroom and Eddie Hearn. I see very little actual boxing analysis from you. It’s all about finances, PPV, fight negotiations... boring as ****. Just lmfao at celebrating profits made by other men. That’s basically cuckoldry.
I think you've got the wrong end of the stick with this one fella. Most people on here agreed it wasn't a good PPV card; I'm not sure anyone predicted it would bomb - boxing in the UK has never been in a better position in my lifetime and the hype around anything remotely close to Anthony Joshua means it will do some numbers. As it turned out, it was a very good night of boxing, but I, and many others, still maintain that it wasn't PPV worthy given there wasn't a fight on the card that couldn't be made on regular Saturday Fight Night (and before anyone chips in, there wasn't a demand for any of the fights on the card either, or for all of them to be on one night - Sky haven't got close to the number of Saturday cards on regular Sky this year and the two main fights could easily have been made for one of them each, headlining the O2).
Agreed. I didn't buy it myself as I thought the undercard had been stripped too much but I can see why it was PPV. If any of us were in the Hearn's or Barny Francis shoes we would be doing the same as not having it on PPV would simply be leaving money on the table.
lol. If it bombed you would be celebrating Matchroom losing money. Dude you post about the DAZN deal not being a success. You posted about the Matchroom US show having to go head to head with Mcgregors comeback in the UFC. So yeah do keep talking about boxing analysis while you post about Hearn taking an L with DAZN.
I post way more about actual boxing than **** like that. It’s like a 90:10 ratio. I’m in almost every RBR. You literally just pop up to make threads about deals and the promotional side of boxing. I saw this on Twitter and just knew you would make a thread about it. Same with the Joshua Matchroom deal renewal. But hey, if you get aroused by men making money, whatever floats your boat...
