I know the time zones help a HUGE amount but isn't this way more than Fury v Wilder got? It shows how powerful the sky machine is.

Fair enough, sorry I was commenting on Hearns behaviour and comments on the matter. I did post a 'SecondsOut' article yesterday that describe — in general terms — the hearing (NADP hearing) that Whyte underwent, with good detail.

Class from Whyte, and shows how good Eddie is at promoting and building fighters.

Sorry I meant to emphasize that this is in general terms, of course the details surrounding these type of hearing for any given case will be confidential for legal purposes.

Thanks, will read that article later.

In layman's terms though - if this fight had happened in the US, ala Miller, would it have gone ahead? The way I understand it (from my limited understanding) is that this fight went ahead purely because the UK has different rules. If this had happened in New York, it would have been prevented from happening. Do you know whether that is true?

What is "class from Whyte"? He's barely said anything about it!

Wilder - Fury was 325,000 in the US at 3 times the price but to be fair, that was a massive fight and had a belt on the line.

Let’s be honest nearly 300k for Whyte - Rivas is very good, I thought it was gonna bomb but Whyte obviously has a decent fan base now.

Forget about suspensions, just dock his PPV loot from this fight - he'll never mess about again

Depends on the results management of USADA vs UKAD based on how they perform adjudication, but they both implement WADA protocols.

So basically, USADA Anti-Doping Review Board vs an NADP hearing. It seems, based on information available online, that there is a key difference in how each review hearing is conducted. With USADA, it is still USADA who are doing the checks and validating, without an independent panel or body. Whereas with NADP an independent body is included on the panel:

"The NADP is a national tribunal and appellate body for the UK, entirely independent of sporting governing bodies and UKAD." "It is sometimes possible to accelerate proceedings and hold a hearing sooner if the matter is urgent. "

"The USADA anti-doping review board is not the independent arbitration panel that hears and decides contested cases . The anti-doping review board only provides an additional check, reviewing the case information and providing a recommendation as to whether an athlete should be charged with an anti-doping rule violation."

Would Whyte have been cleared on the same night if it was in New York? Probably not.

However Whyte did receive a more thorough hearing in the UK through an independent panel of legal sports representatives, medical specialists etc.

Important to note, that USADA do have another route to an independent body if the athlete wishes to appeal a charge -

"An athlete charged with an anti-doping rule violation is entitled to an independent hearing in front of independent judges, not affiliated with USADA, from the American Arbitration Association. All evidence is subject to disclosure in accordance with the law and witnesses’ testimony is given under oath and subject to penalty of perjury and cross examination. The Independent panel provides a written decision to all parties which is then posted to USADA’s website."

Bottom line, the process is done differently, and given the time scales surrounding the Whyte hearing, clearly the UK system was quick enough to clear him to fight, US would probably not have but no one can say for sure as we do not know more about Whyte's case.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this.
